Prep Hoops Louisiana Top 250 Expo: 2022 Combo Guards (2/2)

<p>Check out my analysis from some of the standout point guards of the 2022 class that were on full display during the 2021 Prep Hoops Louisiana Top 250 Expo. I got a hands-on look at all of these high-level athletes. Look for their stock to continue to rise after some very impressive performances!</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="932861" first="Everette" last="Prejean"] Jr 2022- Northside High School</strong></p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/Prejean-Jr-Everette-2.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1269744" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/Prejean-Jr-Everette-2-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a></p> <p>Everette is an athletic and high-energy player. He has great leaping ability and the ability to get up and down the court. I was very impressed with his ability to get to the rim and finish with either side of the rim. His ability to manipulate the pick and roll is already at a very high level. He can initiate offense on the break and in the half-court. He is a good help defender; he is aware of when to slide over and force bad looks. I would like to see him work on his ability to get to his pull-up in the midrange and beyond the arc.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1270103" first="Alex" last="Broussard"] 2022- Vermilion Catholic Screamin Eagles</strong></p> <p><strong><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/Broussard-Alex-2.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1269673" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/Broussard-Alex-2-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a></strong></p> <p>Alex is a high-level scoring machine with the ability to score all around the court. He is a dynamic ball handler, who loves to show off his flash and ability to manipulate the defenses. He is a great finisher in the lane, with a soft touch on his floater he can get to over taller defenders. I would like to see him work on his ability to set up his teammates off the attention he consistently receives.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1206919" first="Markell" last="McClain"] 2022- Peabody Magnet High School</strong></p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/Mcclain-Markell-2.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1269730" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/08/Mcclain-Markell-2-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a></p> <p>Markell is a very impressive player; he is very good with the ball always seeming to make the right reads. He is great at attacking the basket, especially in the full court or getting downhill after the pick and roll. He is a very aware rebounder as well, he had multiple tip-outs that ended directly in his teammate’s laps for open looks. McClain is a very good all-around player, a college coach is definitely going to get lucky with him at the next level with his willingness to do a little bit of everything.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="932846" first="Joseph" last="Manning"] 2022- Bossier High School 6’3</strong></p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/07/Joseph-Manning-31.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1014141" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/07/Joseph-Manning-31-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p>Joseph is a sniper from deep, I was very impressed by his ability to make shots from all around the arc, especially off the catch. He is not afraid to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim, he has a strong frame and an athletic build that should translate well at the next level. I was very impressed with his ability to take off and rise above defenders at the guard position. His leaping ability and frame paired with his ability to shoot the ball from all over the court make him a very dangerous player.</p>
