Cosby is from Nashville, Tennessee and has shown a lot of promise at some of the best elite middle school camps throughout the country. Our own Terry Drake just saw Cosby recently and had a lot to say about him that you can read here. We caught up with Cosby’s coach, Coach K from NYBA Elite to learn more about Cosby…
“Lincoln has a very bright future. He always pushes himself because he wants to be the best. He has great parents that are always going to help him keep on developing. I really think Lincoln will be playing this game for a long time. He has all the tools and is going to continue to develop and get better.”
Coach K has described Cosby as a “special” player when Cosby is on the court.
“Lincoln is a special player. Lincoln has a good chance of playing professionally in my opinion. He keeps on growing and growing. A lot of people don’t realize he is already 6’3. He is a 12 year old that is super long and super skilled. He is hungry, humble and always wants to keep on getting better.”
Prep Hoops Next continued to learn about the tools Cosby can bring while on the court as Coach K told us about the different ways Cosby can be used while playing.
“He is always going to be the tallest player on the court but he plays point guard for us. His ball handling has really improved, his vision keeps on improving and he has great awareness when he is on the court. He is a crafty lefty that can really do it all on the offensive side of the ball. However, if we need him to play off the ball, he can do that and be a perfect catch and shoot threat for us.”
Cosby will continue to develop as he gets older and his coach talked about the development process with us.
“I keep on telling him to improve his energy and keep his motor running defensively. I want him to be able to compete and challenge the best players on the defensive end all the time. He has all the capabilities to be a great defender but I want him to keep improving his motor on defense. I think he will end up being 6’7 or 6’8 which will be crucial for his development.”
