it was great catching up and getting to know Keymani, here is our latest Q & A:
How long have you been playing basketball?
I have been playing basketball since I was 7 years old but I didn’t start travel basketball till I was 10.
Are you currently playing any other sports?
No, I am not currently playing any other sports. I do like football though. GO Eagles.
What team do you currently play for?
I play mainly with central Florida Rising Stars, but I will sometimes play with a few other teams.
Some of the other teams I play with are, Hardwork Hoops Academy, Iren Rainey Elite and B-Cat Tigers. All these teams are out of the Orlando/Central Florida area.
Do you pattern your game after anyone in particular?
I pattern my game after Kevin Garnett and Hakeem Olajuwon.
What aspect of your game are you currently working on?
I’m actually working on everything to get better., such as vert training, dribbling drills, because I want to get more comfortable breaking pressure full-court.
What is your dream college?
The dream is to make any college team roster but my dream schools would be Michigan or Kentucky.
Who are some of your favorite players right now?
My favorite players are Steph Curry and Klay Thompson because I’m a big Warriors fan. Steph Curry was the reason I fell in love with basketball.
What are your favorite shoes to hoop in?
I love the Lebron’s and Kyrie’s but those Puma’s are also comfortable.
What sets you apart from other players in your grade?
I feel like my coordination at this height and age sets me apart. There are kids that are my height and age 14 and 15 and I am just 13. I had my 1st and 2nd in-game dunk when I was 12 years old and only 6’2.
What would you say are your strengths?
My strengths are rebounding, blocking shots, setting screens, footwork, and talking on defense. I would also add running the floor and passing.
Additionally
While evaluating Kymani you could see that he is a student of the game and it is apparent when you pay attention to his footwork. While he is still a young prospect he has a lot of mature skills, he has soft hands and he is patient on the blocks on post moves as well as when he is running the floor.
