6’7 Tristan Comer (Michigan)
When it comes to players jumping out of the gym or off the screen Tristan is that guy. We caught up with the big-time prospect out of Michigan recently in this interview.
Is basketball a big deal out in Michigan?
Not really but there are a few players that are really good spaced out through the area.
Tell us a little bit about yourself as a two-sport athlete.
In football, I currently play DE and on offense, I have to play OT because there is a weight limit and I am not allowed to play other positions. In high school next year I plan on playing TE. In basketball I am a PF.
Is there a college you would like to attend someday?
I would love to go to Michigan because they have a great staff with a lot of experience and it’s also close to home.
What have you been doing to get ready for basketball?
I try to train as much as I can and I have actually started lifting weights to try and match up better against older players.
Tell us a little bit about your grassroots experience.
I’m always traveling to play and I usually don’t stop until football season. During the summer I work a little bit but I am always playing basketball. I often go to the local high school to play in open runs when I am not on the road traveling. I really feel like I don’t miss a beat when football is over.
Are there any players you like to pattern your game after?
I don’t really imitate other players’ games but I do like to look at signature moves and try to adapt them to my game.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I try to find time to play some video games and spend time with my friends when I can.
How would you describe your game?
I pride myself on being a defensive presence when I am on the floor. I am a three-level scorer and I am always a vocal leader on the floor.
What are some things that you’re working on?
I am working on increasing my shooting ability and my handle as well.

When it comes to players that have potential Tristan is one that jumps off the page and he actually jumps out of the gym as well. The kid is intense. He is a defensive presence and he is out there seeking rebounds and block shots. Tristan can dunk flat-footed under the rim. The kid is in 8th grade 360-dunking. It’s easy to say that Tristan has next out in a small town in Michigan. Tristan is a D1 kid and he still has 2 to 3 inches left to grow.
