With football season in full swing, some of the top basketball prospects in the state are securing their future colleges ahead of the upcoming high school season. This article will spotlight some of the latest commitments that have been made by Ohio prospects.

First up we’ll look at a pair of prospects that have left Ohio for prep schools outside of the state. Chris Livingston, a consensus five star prospect will be rocking the iconic Kentucky blue. Kebba Njie will also be rocking blue, but a different shade, as he commits to Penn State to join [player_tooltip player_id="921744" first="Evan" last="Mahaffey"] as Ohio natives joining Coach Micah Shrewsberry’s program. Shawn Phillips and Paul McMillan IV haven’t decided their plans for their senior season, but both Arizona prep prospects are some of the most talented prospects from Ohio. Fans also have to realize that players like [player_tooltip player_id="809594" first="DJ" last="Moore"] and [player_tooltip player_id="809592" first="AJ" last="Clayton"] reclassified to 2021, both were originally 2022 prospects. I really think the depth of the 2022 class in Ohio will be forgotten due to how many players won’t finish their careers in the Buckeye state in their expected graduation year.

Some newer commitments have been made by [player_tooltip player_id="921764" first="Ben" last="Southerland"] and [player_tooltip player_id="921745" first="Rich" last="Rolf"] from Midwest Basketball Club. Southerland will be attending the College of Charleston, while Rolf plans to attend Drexel. [player_tooltip player_id="921749" first="Michael" last="Bova"] committed to Bellarmine, a new Division I program just a few years ago. [player_tooltip player_id="717039" first="Cooper" last="Davis"] is joining NOVA teammate [player_tooltip player_id="921759" first="Javan" last="Simmons"] in Toledo, playing for the Rockets. Some of the top Division II PG targets are off the board, [player_tooltip player_id="921751" first="Luke" last="Denbow"] is going to West Liberty. I love the fit between Denbow and the Hilltoppers fast pace. [player_tooltip player_id="921771" first="Max" last="Roth"] is staying home, the Findlay high school senior will be spending four more years in Findlay, committing to the hometown Findlay Oilers.

Finally, the first 2023 prospect is off the board from Ohio. [player_tooltip player_id="1052781" first="Donovan" last="Hunter"] committed to Missouri State over numerous other offers. It will be interesting to see if any other 2023 prospects commit before their Junior season of high school basketball.
