With those players we’ve formed a 1st and a 2nd all Expo Team, in this article we take a deeper look into the boys that form the 1st Team and what they did to make it on this list.
Baye Hdeouga- Colorado Prep
Baye Hdeouga was the best prospect in the gym and what stood out most was his ability to dominate every game differently. He stood out on both side of the ball and was all over the floor. It isn’t often you see kids at this age who are as developed as he is. His IQ is off the charts, and he makes winning plays every time down the court. Baye ran the break and set up the offense. He took control of the game and scored as needed. He was calm, relaxed, and has an alpha-dog demeanor. With his size at 6’9, there wasn’t much scoring going on in his direction as he takes defense seriously. He was active in passing lanes and set his teammates for easy steals all while being the most vocal person on the court.
Cheikh Soiu- Colorado Prep
Cheikh Soiu was a man amongst boys from the time he stepped foot on the floor til the last game of the day. Standing at 6’6 with disruptive length, he did whatever he wanted to for the day. He made it happen on both sides of the ball. Defensively, it is rare that the tallest player on the floor to also defend the opposing team’s best guard; but that is Cheikh. He used his length to disrupt small guards shots at the rim and also excelled in help-side defense. Offensively he was great in transition and used his handle and length to get easy looks at the rim.
Langston Reynolds Langston Reynolds 6'4" Colorado Prep | 2022 CO – Colorado Prep
Langston Reynolds Langston Reynolds 6'4" Colorado Prep | 2022 CO is one of the top prospects in the 2022 class and has been a mainstay at the Top 250 Expo over the years. If there was a career record, I am sure that he would be amongst our All-Time leaders in points. Throughout those years, we’ve been able to watch his game grow into a legit D1 guard. Langston got to rim at will all day during the Top 250 Expo as he finished with crafty layups. He has the body and strength of a college guard which only makes him a tough cover and only seems to be getting better and playing with better control. It also seemed like he has improved his jump shot significantly as he took in rhythm shots and looked comfortable knocking them down at the expo.
Elijah Knudsen Elijah Knudsen 5'10" Mead | 2022 CO – Mead
Elijah came to the Top 250 Expo and picked up right where he left off from last season. He will always be one of the best shooters in any gym he walks in, which was indeed on display for people to see. However, what people did not expect was for him to also be included in our top dunks of the day. Elijah had a down-the-lane dunk that woke up the entire gym. It’s crazy to see that the 4A Player of the Year from last season has gotten even better over the summer and is looking to repeat as a State Champion in his senior year.
Jaeton Hackley Jaeton Hackley 6'0" Douglas County | 2022 CO – Douglas County
Jaeton Hackley Jaeton Hackley 6'0" Douglas County | 2022 CO was one of the top players at the expo and was the top guard on the day. He led his team to an undefeated day as they won every game by 15+ points but it was the way that he led them that made it easy for others around him. Jaeton is a high-level, high-IQ player who doesn’t have many weaknesses in his game. He scored the ball at will from all three levels but was still able to keep his teammates involved. Jaeton’s passing gets overshadowed by his scoring, but he can set his guys up and take a back seat if that means team success. That’s leadership.
