The updated rankings for the class of 2022 are out in NorCal. Here we’ll take a look at the top centers in the region.

[player_tooltip player_id="1252972" first="Adem" last="Bona"] 6’10 of Prolific Prep.

Bona is a nationally ranked prospect, a top 5 center in the country. He has major offers from the Pac-12, Big-12, ACC and more. Bona is a physically fit player, who runs the court well for a big. He’s a target in the post with good hands, and improving footwork. With his length, and long strides all he needs is one dribble, and he’s at the rim for dunks. He’s a rim protector, plays with balance, and energy.

[player_tooltip player_id="1254022" first="Mor" last="Seck"] 7’0 of Prolific Prep.

Seck transferred into Prolific Prep from Archbishop Riordan to improve his skills set in the post, and play against top big men. We thought he was still in the raw, but improving category, the wait is over. He’s going to be tested in practice and games regularly, going up against the likes of the best post players in the country. (Bona) and more. We think he’ll show more of himself on the defense, rim protecting, and defending other bigs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1253963" first="Cahal" last="Connolly"] 6’9 of Bishop O’Dowd HS

Connolly will help offset the loss of the #1 ranked 2023 player who opted for OTE. He’ll be a big target in the post with a couple of finishing moves that works for a player his size. The jump hook, and a short jumper in key or the short corner. He’ll takes up space, challenge who ever comes inside on defense, haul in rebounds. He’s a good screener and passer.

[player_tooltip player_id="947835" first="Dajon" last="Lott"] 6’9 of Elk Grove HS.

Lott seems more comfortable playing at the high post and top, where has good form and will take his shot from the 3-point line. He sees the court well as a passer at the high post moving the ball from one side to another, looking for shooters spotting up in the corners. He has the bulk, and size, with a soft touch off the glass to get points when he’s down on the block.

[player_tooltip player_id="1112631" first="Bronson" last="Burrow"] 6’7 of Ripon HS.

Burrow is a big burly player who takes up space and is aggressive in the paint. He’s a two sport athlete and will most likely play football at the next level. He has a DII offer in basketball. He has decent footwork in the paint, he uses a nice jump hook, and finishes well around the hoop. He goes after rebounds and hustles up the court. He’ll make you work for points in the paint. The only question is will he play hoops this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1270873" first="Joseph" last="Espy"] 6’9 of Pleasant Grove HS.

He’s a big body standing at 6’9 he has plenty of room for improvement. In 10 high school games he came close to averaging a double-double. 9pts, 8rebs. He has some tools to work with. You have to go through the big fella to get to the basket. He’ll get his share of rebounds, and his work in the post is improving. He doesn’t shoot 3’s often but he does have good form. We’ll see more of him.
