WJG Sports Classic Final Notes

<p>WCDS 2024 Forward <b>[player_tooltip player_id="1120961" first="Kayleb" last="Coles"]</b>: He continues to improve every time we get the chance to see him and he was one of the more unselfish players throughout the event, not forcing plays by any means. He’s a high flyer that can finish plays above the rim but also use his athleticism on defense.</p>
<p>Wayne Christian 2022 Guard <b>Jay Curry</b>: His ability to score the ball at a very high level has been shown over the last few years and the WJG Classic was no different. He knocked down shots from all over the court and made plays above the rim.</p>
<p>WCD 2023 Guard <b>[player_tooltip player_id="1113673" first="Jordan" last="Cooper"]</b>: His play in the state tournament last season turned plenty of heads and he’s kept that momentum and high level of play throughout the grassroots season. He has a laid back demeanor but he’s a player that is very efficient, doesn’t back down from any challenge and has what we would call “sneaky” athleticism.</p>
<p>Wayne Christian 2022 Wing <b>[player_tooltip player_id="1253929" first="Shawn" last="Haskins"]</b>: We really like what we saw from him throughout the evening, making high IQ plays and was one of the most efficient perimeter shooters that we saw. The lefty found his rhythm from three point land early on, has a smooth shooting form and is strong enough to make plays inside the paint as well. </p>
<p>New Hanover 2022 Guard <b>[player_tooltip player_id="1126519" first="Lenier" last="Pocknett"]</b>: A prospect that can be outstanding on both ends of the floor, he can score the ball in bunches but also has the lateral quickness and active hands to be a special player on the defensive end of the floor. <br />

Wayne Prep 2024 Guard <b>[player_tooltip player_id="1076339" first="Jaquan" last="Green"]</b>: One of the younger players at the event, he showed that he could compete with some of the better upperclassmen in the area without much of an issue. He understands how to use his athleticism to his benefit and really excels when he’s able to get out into transition. </p>
