Having three experienced and talented players to work off each other is a luxury not many teams have going into next season.

Here are a few of the top trios to watch in 2A:

Hillsboro:

[player_tooltip player_id="1080187" first="Brekyn" last="Ratzlaff"], 6-foot guard, 2023:

[player_tooltip player_id="1195623" first="Grayson" last="Ratzlaff"], 6-foot-7 forward, 2022:

[player_tooltip player_id="891931" first="Matthew" last="Potucek"], 5-foot-10 guard, 2022:

No better place to start than with the state champs. The Trojans lose some supporting cast, but they return the three most important components of their title run. [player_tooltip player_id="1080187" first="Brekyn" last="Ratzlaff"] makes it all go from the point spot, where he can handle pressure, distribute, and score with the best point men in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="1195623" first="Grayson" last="Ratzlaff"] is an impressive athlete with the most yet to be discovered in his game. He’s a long, agile athlete few can match for height and quickness. And Potucek is the heart-and-soul senior who does it all. Look no further than the 17 he put up in the championship game.

Wabaunsee:

[player_tooltip player_id="1147992" first="Brayden" last="Meseke"], 5-foot-11 guard, 2022:

Cade Oliver, 6-foot guard, 2022:

[player_tooltip player_id="1146300" first="Eli" last="Oliver"], 6-foot-1 guard, 2023:

The state runners-up lose two key seniors, but return their own trio of studs. The Chargers go through the grind of a league with all 3A competition. So the trio of Meseke and the Oliver brothers are pushed all season long. They can each shoot it from the perimeter, drive and create, and are good athletes. Meseke is the Chargers’ motor at both ends.

Lyndon:

Darian Massey, 6-foot-1 guard, 2022:

Toby Miller, 6-foot-3 forward, 2022:

Jackson Biggs, 6-foot-5 forward, 2023:

The Tigers lose two studs in [player_tooltip player_id="1134452" first="Luke" last="Detwiler"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1134453" first="Miles" last="Kitselman"]. But that will just open the door for a trio of returners to grow their roles. Massey and Miller are experienced inside-out players with good size and ability to shoot. But watch for Biggs to really expand his game. He’s got length and athleticism, and the highest ceiling for growth.

Ellinwood:

[player_tooltip player_id="1080178" first="Britton" last="Dutton"], 6-foot-1 guard, 2023 (pictured):

Tyler Stuhlsatz, 6-foot-2 forward, 2023:

Parker Scheck, 6-foot-3 forward, 2023:

Although he gets the most recognition, Dutton is not the only baller in Ellinwood. It’s rare that a team’s top three scorers are all sophomores, but that’s what happened for the Eagles a year ago. Dutton torched opponents for 23.7 points per game, but he wasn’t alone. Stuhlsatz averaged 12.7 points and 4.8 boards. Scheck added 10 points and 6.2 rebounds. You might as well toss in Koy Behnke, a 6-foot-2 2023 guard/forward who contributed 3.9 points and 3.3 boards. The 2023 class at Ellinwood is loaded.
