SubscribeContinuing my recap of The Finals we have 5 more kids from the 2025-2027 classes to highlight as these kids were pivotal in helping their teams advance throughout bracket play.
Nehemiah Lawrence (featured image in thumbnail) Class of 2026 / Team Griffin – Nehemiah is a fun one to watch for Team Griffin 2026 as he had a great Sunday scoring 18 points in both the semi-finals and championship game. The system Team Griffin runs is that they want to use their fast guards like Nehemiah to push the tempo and the results ended up being a lot of layups and free throws. Nehemiah is a quick lefty who is hard to stay in front of and really loves using his hesi to create separation. Definitely a guard I am going to be excited to watch next year.
Martin Kaupanger (featured image to the right) Class of 2025 / Team Bradley – I never want to say that one player makes a team but Martin Kaupanger really makes me think otherwise. The skilled do it all guard for Team Bradley has a lot of potential with his ability to play 1-5 offensively and defensively. Martin has a great jumper but also loves to bang with the big men in the paint and finishes consistently. Martin is one of the best kept secrets on the west coast and word will get out to some big name sponsor programs this upcoming year.
Rodrick Williams Class of 2027 / Team FOE – Rodrick always puts on a show for Team FOE as he has been known as one of the most dominant players in the 2027 class. Rodrick has great length for his age and is extremely coordinated, but what makes Rodrick stand out from other big men is his IQ. Defensively Rodrick does a great job moving his feet and timing out blocks without fouling, overall as other players start to grow I am excited to see how Rodrick’s size and IQ play into his hands.
Dylan Jones Class of 2027 / NENE Elite – A new name that caught my eye Sunday afternoon was sharpshooter Dylan Jones. Running with NENE Elite I feel like players get overlooked by top 2027 Isaiah Santos but Dylan did a great job against a tough FOE team of getting to his open spots and scoring. As I start to cover the 2027 class more I am excited to see how Dylan’s offensive game develops beyond just shooting as he already brings some really good handles to his game.
Denton Forsythe (featured image to the right) Class of 2026 / Team Griffin – One of my favorite players all weekend and definitely one I am going to follow next year is Denton Forsythe. Throughout all of Sunday I would see Team Griffin in close games coming down to final minutes and at the end of them all it would be Denton hitting a timely shot or exceling defensively. Overall, I am really looking forward to Denton looking to create more offensively for himself as when attacking the rim he is sneaky athletic.
