MAYB Nationals : 2023 and 2024 Thursday Standouts Part 2

<p>Took in a lot of good basketball this weekend at the 2021 MAYB Nationals. Teams from around 15 different states participated. Here are some standout performances from Thursdays games.</p> <p>Tasean Williams | 2024 | PNP 2024</p> <p>This kid has the basketball on a string. Such a tight handle with some great dribble combos. He showed a lot of confidence shooting the three. He spaced the floor really well and showed how a true one guard is supposed to be played. The thing that stuck out most to me about Williams' game was how much he controlled the game. He played at his own pace and his own game.</p> <p>Yijong Zhang | 2023 | Kansas Hoggs</p> <p>Zhang had a very big presence inside. I believe standing at a long 6'8, he was dominant down low against all defenders. He did get some perimeter touches and showed he could knock down the three ball consistently. He was aggressive on the boards both offensively and defensively and blocked a lot of shots all weekend. </p> <p>Christian Jones | 2024 | Texas Monarchs 9th</p> <p>Jones was an all around great point guard. With a real nice handle and a great jumper he already checks off some attributes you want in your point guard. He knocked down the midrange and got to the rim very easily. Defenders had a hard time keeping up with him all weekend long. He took a lot of high percentage shots. </p> <p>Deven Bolton | 2024 | KC United</p> <p>Deven was a real threat from anywhere on the court. This kid can flat out score. He gets to the rim so easily with his first step and his acceleration with the ball. Real smooth lefty who has a crazy good handle. Defensively was aggressive, but played smart, getting his hands on some passes. Definitely has gained a lot of stock this summer. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
