These players looked impressive on Saturday and Sunday at Jefferson High School. In this article, we will be looking at players who break down defenders with great ball-handling skills.
Alphabetically, here are the BEST HANDLES from 16U:
Anish Ramlall 6’3 || Rosemount || WOTN Bertsch || MN
Why? Killer crossover, breaking ankles, very tough to guard, a ball-handling savant. Anish may have been the best point guard I watched all last weekend. Ramlall has all the moves and shake, he also has the “it factor”. The kid is a stud.
Brett Hardy 6’3 || Bloom || Illinois HoopsStars Gardner || IL
Why? Blew by defenders, always attacking, tight and quick handles. Hardy knows when to push it and when to slow it. Brett was impressive in the open court while showing many ways to beat the defense.
6’4

Why? An amazing athlete that makes defenders look silly, Iverson level crossover, superior athlete. Koak has refined and pure handles. His command of the ball is spectacular. It is a joy to watch Buay play hoops.
6’1 Eli Ocharo || Apple Valley || Real Phenom Hollie || MN
Why? A scary matchup, quick and explosive first step that is matched with ball-on-a-string handles. Eli’s crossover is elite, he can make defenders look like they are walking in sand. He has a cool hesitation and a fresh spin-move. Ocharo has a plethora of tricks to fool the D.

Kodiak Miller 6’0 || West Salem || Coulee Country || WI
Why? Calm, cool, and collected! Weaves his way through traffic, protects ball well, a maestro with the rock, always in command with the ball. Miller is a clever guard that switches up his pace to keep the defenders out of whack.

6’5 || Albert Lea || MN Lightning Ellerbusch || MN
Why? A very impressive crossover that tripped up many defenders, between the legs and change of speed, covers much ground, big first step, uses body well to protect the rock. Pal had a great weekend at the Hard Work Region Finals.
Matt Eng 6’0 || O’gorman || Sacred Hoops || SD
Why? Creative, breaks down defenders, multiple moves. His handles are velutinous, very smooth. Eng can be flashy and fundamental, he has all the tools.
Tyler Boegeman 6’2 || Shakopee || MN Crossfire Barger || MN
Why? Controls tempo and speed of the game, takes care of the ball, and makes good decisions. One of the better and in-control PG’s that I saw. If you watch him for a few minutes, you will see right away that Boegeman is a baller.
