Be A Baller, Not a Bully Elite 20 Showcase Game Standouts

<p>The first annual ’Be A Baller, Not a Bully’ Elite 20 Showcase Game was held Friday, August 6th, 2021 at Wilby High School in Waterbury, Connecticut. The location was ideal for a showcase event. The school feel was welcoming and the energy in the gym was balanced. The prospects involved didn’t treat it like an all-star game, they were competitive from start to finish. </p> <div dir="auto">[player_tooltip player_id="1081841" first="Dom" last="Campbell"] ’22. The Notre Dame commit showcased his versatility and got into a friendly one on one with Duke commit [player_tooltip player_id="996913" first="Kyle" last="Filipowski"], giving us a preview of their future ACC battles. He finished with 22 points.<br /> <br /> <br /> </div> <div dir="auto">[player_tooltip player_id="996913" first="Kyle" last="Filipowski"] ’22. The Duke faithful can’t wait for Kyle to reach campus. His unique skill set was on display. Kyle continuously proves he’s not only one of the best players in the region but in the country. The recent Davidson commit played loose and free like the weight of the world was off his shoulders. He attacked the rim with his athletic ability and connected on multiple threes. He finished with 17 points. <br /> <br /> <br /> </div> <div dir="auto"><strong>Andre Johnson</strong> ‘22. Johnson has exploded this summer which included a 52 point performance in July. He made a statement with Connecticut Select on the grassroots circuit and will look to carry the momentum to South Kent this fall. He finished with a game-high five threes and 19 points. <br /> <br /> <br /> </div> <div dir="auto">[player_tooltip player_id="1081781" first="Avery" last="Brown"] ‘22 The Northfield Mount Hermon standout played well and continued to be consistent. He was able to get into the paint, knock down shots, and find teammates in transition. He finished with 19 points in the first half and 26 total. (Pictured). Hill finished with a game-high 29 points. He’s tailormade for a game of this magnitude. He has an amazing offensive feel and the athletic ability to match. He was voted game MVP. Logan continues his impressive summer. He recently earned an offer from Drexel and has gained a ton of interest. He showcased all facets of his game and his potential to be a steady lead guard against top talent. </div> <div dir="auto"> </div> <div dir="auto">[player_tooltip player_id="1081820" first="Jabari" last="Nurse"] ‘22. Jabari is a sneaky talent. After playing the summer with a loaded Expressions team he still managed to make an impact on the floor. He connected on a lob play after successfully running the lane in the open floor. He finished with 12 points. </div> <div dir="auto"> </div> <div dir="auto"><strong>TJ Morris</strong> ‘21. TJ's explosiveness at the rim was on display throughout the game. During one sequence he read the defense and cut backdoor allowing him to finish at the rim. The effortless scorer finishes very well in the open court because of his willingness to run the floor and be a prime target.
