The number of rising players in the PH Rankings will continue to grow as we are able to get out and evaluate more players from the region. Here’s our continued list of rising players in the c/o of 2023 rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119287" first="Pasha" last="Goodarzi"] 6’3 SG of Valley Christian

We try to avoid putting the shooters labels on players who shoot well. Every now and then you have to identify a shooter when you see one. Goodarzi has the shooters label. He has a good FG%. He could hit 3 in a row in any given game, or go 5/6 from the 3pt line. He has to be accounted for when he’s on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="952015" first="Landon" last="Edmonds"] 6’6 Post of Dougherty Valley HS.

Edmonds a big solid player who’s starting to figure out how strong and forceful he can be in the post. He doesn’t get a lot of touches in the paint, but the ones he gets he convert. He has a solid base to be an effective defender in the post area. He can change shots just by players trying to avoid contact with him. He’s a double-double guy.

[player_tooltip player_id="1255627" first="Austin" last="Dewes"] 6’9 W/P of Alhamba HS

Dewes at 6’9 plays inside/out, which could set him up for the next level if he continues to fill out his frame, and add strength. He has the ability to score inside with his length, and soft touch around the rim. He works his way outside to the perimeter at times, where he seems comfortable using dribbles to get closer, and putting up shots from the outside. We’ll See more of him.

[player_tooltip player_id="1114866" first="Reid" last="Jones"] 6’3 PG/SG of Jesuit HS.

Jones is a high IQ player that can play either guard position on the court. He has good command of the offense at the top. He has good handles, vision, and makes the right decisions, he moves well with or without the ball. He’s good in the open court, he has a nice pull up jumper on the dime, and hits 3’s if left open.

[player_tooltip player_id="1255841" first="Leroy" last="Bryant"] 6’0 PG of Rodriquez HS.

Bryant is as tough as they come. He’s a confident player with good handles working from the point guard position. He can score from different angles on the court, mostly using a blow by to get to the bucket to challenge bigs or having bounce on the pull-up jumper somewhere in the mid-range. He plays the game with good energy, and will challenge you on the defensive side of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="950888" first="Jaiden" last="Paran"] 6’0 PG of Archbishop Mitty HS.

The transfer from Valley Christian has a good set of tools to work with, slick handles, an ability to get into the paint , and a jump shot he can hit. His decision making, and patience at the top will be tested. He sat out the short high school season, but has looked good in those areas during the summer.
