The updated 2022 rankings are finally here as the month of August is coming to a close. Every update includes newcomers and this one is no exception. Here are the top newcomers in the updated 2022 rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id="931018" first="Javon" last="Adams"], 6’9 PF Olympus Prep

Adams is the highest ranked newcomer in the class and is one of the most intriguing prospects available. The lanky 6’9 forward has a good handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the basket. Adams is more than just a slasher as he has a nice release on his jumper and uses his size to shoot over smaller defenders. He knows how to find his teammates in the half court and has the potential to defend multiple positions. Adams is a versatile combo forward prospect who will be a player to watch all season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1046460" first="Kareem" last="Ewell"], 6’6 SF Olympus Prep

Ewell is a small forward prospect to keep an eye on this season as he knows how to make plays. The 6’6 wing is unafraid of taking big-time shots late in the game as he hit a buzzer-beating layup to knock off Roselle Catholic when he was playing with the Patrick School last season. Ewell has a good touch around the basket and can break his defender down off the bounce. He has a strong frame, which he uses to make layups through contact and is an underrated defender. Ewell’s ability to impact the offense in multiple ways makes him an interesting wing prospect in the class.

[player_tooltip player_id="902016" first="Mohamed" last="Toure"], 6’6 SF Hun

Toure is a new addition to the state and should make an impact in his only year in the Garden State. The Maryland native is an athletic wing who knows how to finish above the rim. Toure is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher and can draw contact. He has the athleticism to defend multiple positions and is an underrated rebounder. Toure should be a player to watch all season for Hun with his ability to score around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="1265895" first="Blessing" last="Agbonlaho"], 6’10 C Olympus Prep

Agbonlaho will be a post grad prospect to keep an eye on all season as he is one of the top available post players in the class. The Taft School transfer works hard to get position on both ends of the floor and is a good rebounder. Agbonlaho is a good shot-blocker as he uses timing and length to block shots. He has a nice touch around the basket and is working on his range. Agbonlaho’s ability to make plays on the defensive end makes him a prospect to watch all season for Olympus Prep.

[player_tooltip player_id="1078607" first="Travonne" last="Jackson"], 6’5 PG Olympus Prep

Jackson is a big, lead guard prospect who should make an impact right away for Olympus Prep. The 6’5 guard is a score-first point guard who is unafraid of attacking the basket off the bounce. Jackson is more than just a slasher as he has a nice release on his jumper and shoots with confidence from distance. He is an underrated passer and has the length to defend both spots in the backcourt. Jackson will be a prospect to watch due to his combination of size, skill and athleticism.
