Team Comments from coach Ben Short

"This was a great group of young men, very mature, very focused, and disciplined. They were determined and came out ready to compete every weekend. As a coach, this was a luxury to have because I knew we were going to be in every game no matter who the opponent was. These boys worked very well together, played for each other, and at the end of the day, they became better basketball players and teammates. I am looking forward to seeing them continue to grow as athletes and as young men through their final basketball seasons in high school."

Roster

Connor Sauvage (2022) |5-11 G| Douglas - Connor has good handles. Played the point guard this summer. Can score the rock. When in attack mode he can get to the rim, a very creative finisher when scoring around the bigs at the rim. Can knock down the outside shot if left open. Definitely a dual-threat scorer.

Hayden Ardnt (2022) |6-3 G| Sioux Falls Roosevelt - High motor kid. He plays the game with great energy. Long arms, good hands, he gets a lot of deflections and steals on the defensive end. Shoots the outside shot with confidence. Makes threes consistently while still attacking and getting to the line. Great FT shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id="968158" first="Tristan" last="Nielsen"] (2022) |6-0 G| Castlewood - Mr. Clutch, a high character kid, Tristan did it all this summer. Tristan had multiple games with 30 plus points, he also had games where he was responsible for shutting down the opposing team’s best player. Pure shooter, who is very patient on offense. Can attack and finish against anyone. Great moves with his back to the rim, consistently finishes his mid-range jumpers. This kid can play with the best of them.

Devon Lewis (2022) |6-0 G/F| Brookings - Spot up three-point shooter. Has a quick release and can consistently hit them from deep. A high motor guy that kept his teammates accountable. A Sneaky good defender helped get a lot of stops on defense over the summer.

Zach Moe (2022) |6-1 G| Watertown - High motor, intense. Zach is strong for the guard position which allows for him to finish through contact. His strength is his defense. Quick and very athletic. He is not afraid to contest anyone at the rim. Great looking shot, can knock down threes.

[player_tooltip player_id="1130582" first="Peyton" last="Millis"] (2022) |6-1 G| Spearfish - High IQ guy. Understands the game of basketball, always has the team in the right position to attack any defense and to defend any offense. Being a southpaw, Peyton has a pure jump shot and surprises teams with his quickness getting to the rim and being creative enough to finish around the tall bigs.

[player_tooltip player_id="968176" first="Cooper" last="Logan"] (2022) |6-1 G/F| Potter County - Strong, high motor guy. Don’t let his height fool you. Cooper is very disciplined getting position on taller guys, and out muscles smaller guards. Dangerous on the glass. He is a swiss army knife on defense, his strength allows him to defend bigger post players, his athleticism allows him to defend smaller quicker guards on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id="812205" first="Grant" last="Luikens"] (2022) |6-3 G/F| Potter County - Pure scorer in every facet of the game. He can shoot threes at ease. Very creative off the dribble. Not only with his midrange but getting to the rim as well. Very versatile guard. His strength is his ability to draw contact at the rim while still being able to finish. Lots of and-ones. Can score with the best of them.

Noah Price (2022) |6-5 F| Hanson – FREAK ATHLETE. Long, lanky guard that can out-jump anyone in the gym. It surprises most people who watch his game because it will come out of nowhere and he makes it look so effortless. Don’t sleep on his three-point shooting, several games this summer where he knocked down 5 3pt’s in a game.
