The summer is rolling along and players are traveling around the country for exposure.

With that in mind, I would like to highlight some of the talent in Southwest Florida. The territory has a lot of talent that might get overlooked next to its east counterpart.

[player_tooltip player_id="955583" first="Alex" last="Perry"] - Port Charlotte

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="955583" first="Alex" last="Perry"] is a talented dual-sport athlete in football and basketball. The 6-foot-6 guard/forward is a big target whether he’s on the court or the gridiron. In addition, his heart and motor matches his frame. Therefore, stopping him might be a problem. On the hardwood, Perry is a long-strider that can get to the rim with ease. His natural athleticism allows him to get to his spot and finish with a soft touch. He is also a tough rebounder and will play physical around the rim. Much of his wide receiver/tight end skills likely help him on the court. Perry can box out his defender and shield his opponent when driving to the hoop. Also be on the lookout for 2023 Jahmari Johnson. He is a 6-foot-3 guard with high level speed and quickness. Moreover, he is explosive with the ball in his hands at the rim. Johnson is also an excellent student with a 3.5 GPA.

Yvens Paul - Barron Collier

Paul is a solid four/five prospect out of Barron Collier in Naples. The 6-foot-7,190-pound prospect averaged 7.5 points and 7.2 rebounds across 20 games last season. Against Mariner (14-9), Paul had 14 points,11 rebounds and three blocks. Paul clearly has enough length be a factor in the paint area. He grabbed 66 offensive rebounds and blocked 33 shots. A little more size will only solidify his value. However, he already has a solid base as a rim protector.

[player_tooltip player_id="956768" first="Jay" last="White"] - Southwest Florida Christian

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="956768" first="Jay" last="White"] is a high level scorer out of Fort Myers. The 6-foot-1 point guard has a killer mentality and will get you a bucket when you need it. White averaged 17.9 points, 4.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game last season while shooting 51 percent from the floor. Moreover, he scored 20 or more points in nine games. Against Downey Christian (24-11), White scored a season-high 32 points on 63 percent shooting from the field. What I like about him is his consistency. His sophomore and junior years rarely show bad games. White is also an excellent passer out of the backcourt. He racked up 119 assists and dished double-figure dimes twice. Furthermore, his playmaking ability is evident in the halfcourt or in transition. On the defensive side, he tied for the team lead with 1.6 steals per game. White is an all-around guard that will rack up wins with his play on both sides of the court. He plays for Showtime Ballers AAU and holds a 3.5 GPA.
Gabe Czapla - Seacrest Country Day

2022 Gabe Czapla is another terrific athlete that also plays baseball. The 6-foot-4 forward averaged 6.3 points and 3.4 rebounds per game last season for the Stingrays. Moreover, he reached double-figures in six games. Against Palmetto Ridge (14-9), Czapla scored a season-high 16 points and went 4-of-6 from deep. His ability to hit from outside as well as his passing makes him an intriguing watch. Czapla tied a season-high with six assists against Gateway Charter.
