Names in the 561 continue to rise.

The county should be well represented after some big-time prospects left last season. I am interested to see how things shake out and what team separates itself from the area.

For now, the summer season has treated the following names well. Let's look into the names below.

Charlie May - St. Andrew’s

2022 Charlie May has been making a name for himself playing for the Triple Double Tarheels. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard averaged 14.6 points and 7.5 rebounds over five games at the VEA Hoop Series/Prep Hoops circuit event in Indianapolis. A few days ago, May scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds against Nona Basketball Academy. He seems to have grown since completing his junior year with the Scots. His high-level rebounding and overall scoring ability has been impressive. May could be a breakthrough candidate along with 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="955602" first="Anquan" last="Boldin Jr"]. for St. Andrew’s. The athletic Boldin just earned an offer from Albany State.

Zayin Humber - Wellington

2022 Zayin Humber is also looking strong for the Triple Double Tarheels. The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 14.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists over five games at the VEA Hoop Series showcase. His size and shooting ability makes him a deadly threat on the floor. Humber scored 15 points and went 4-of-5 from deep against the Oklahoma Chaos. He has a big opportunity to shine this fall with 2021’s Christopher Walker, [player_tooltip player_id="953071" first="Jordan" last="Johnson"], and Will VanHook graduating. Humber averaged 4.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game as a junior. He is also a great student with a 3.7 GPA.

[player_tooltip player_id="1065431" first="Michael" last="Kalina"] - North Broward Prep

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1065431" first="Michael" last="Kalina"] has been a prospect I have mentioned in the past. I would go as far to say he is underrated in the scope of South Florida basketball. As a junior, Kalina averaged 14.2 points, five rebounds and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the floor. He is a 6-foot-1 point guard with strong vision and playmaking ability. Kalina dished out 7.8 assists over five games at the VEA Hoop Series. Moreover, he can score and rebound at a high rate for his position. Kalina deserves a watch heading into his final season.

Michael Cooper - Forest Hill

2022 Michael Cooper is an athletic guard playing his fall days up at Forest Hill. Right now, the 6-foot guard is showcasing his skill for Ball4Lyfe. Cooper handles the ball well and has a nice shot. He shot 48 percent from three while averaging 11.8 points per game as a junior. Moreover, Cooper knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in eight of ten games played. He should have a big season with Forest Hill losing 2021’s [player_tooltip player_id="818698" first="Donovan" last="Draper"] and [player_tooltip player_id="953081" first="Jalen" last="Jeter"].
