Which players are flying a bit under the radar? Who are the hardworking guys that everyone loves to play with? Who are the players that are coachable and learn fast? These guys are all skilled, athletic, and real-deal players. Read below to see who we have...

Alphabetically here are the guys that deserve more attention:

6’1 SG [player_tooltip player_id="1161486" first="Alex" last="Proctor"] || Fargo Davies || ECI || 2022

The Eagles are deep and he did not get burn on varsity last season. However, Proctor will be a major factor for Davies in the coming year. He is very athletic and potent in transition. I really like his first step and slashing ability. Alex can finish above the rim and slam it with authority. This Eagle can fly!

5’11 PG [player_tooltip player_id="1129974" first="Alijah" last="Dixson"] || Enderlin || ECI || 2022

He will be one of the top PG’s in Region-1 in the upcoming season. The Hurlburt’s steal most of the attention in Enderlin. However, Dixson is the straw that stirs the drink for the Eagles. He is a quick and fast player. I like the way he pushes the tempo. Dixson has a nice pull-up J and he is a smooth finisher.

6’0 G/F [player_tooltip player_id="1237689" first="Carson" last="Barta"] || Fargo Davies || 2023

He is an up-and-coming talent for the Eagles. You may not have heard of him because Davies is deep and loaded. Carson led the talented Davies JV squad in scoring last year. He dropped an impressive 44 in one game. Look for Carson to get some minutes on varsity this upcmoing season.

6’1 G [player_tooltip player_id="1125690" first="Connor" last="Kerzman"] || Garrison || 2023

He has not gotten a ton of attention because he does not play AAU. However, Connor is a cold-blooded scorer. He is very efficient when attacking the basket and he is a tremendous finisher. Kerzman has the capability to be a great shooter from the arc as well. His handles are high-end. Kerzman is a complete player with a bright future for the Troopers.

6’4 SG [player_tooltip player_id="812232" first="Connor" last="Trahan"] || Bismarck Century || ECI || 2022

A long guard that moves well. Connor stands out when shooting the rock. He is a high-level 3-point shooter. Century is stack and loaded and he sometimes he gets overlooked. Trahan’s length on the perimeter will be a big asset for the Patriots. His shooting ability will also be a key factor next season.

6’1 G [player_tooltip player_id="1144581" first="Dalen" last="Leftbear"] || Four Winds/Minnewaukan || 2024

You may not have heard of him because of all the older talent ahead of Dalen. There is also [player_tooltip player_id="1144580" first="Deng" last="Deng"] in the 2024 class that is a top prospect in North Dakota from 4 Winds. However, Leftbear is the next up-and-coming star for the Indians. He is already ahead of the game on defense. Dalen is excellent in transition and at scoring around the basket. Look for him to play impactful minutes for the Indians in the upcoming year.

6’3 F [player_tooltip player_id="1046363" first="Jalen" last="May"] || Fargo North || ECI || 2022

This versatile jack-of-all-trades might be the lynchpin for the Spartans next season. Jalen can hit the 3, board up, find the open man, and guard multiple positions on defense. May is a crafty scorer with a high basketball IQ. He is a matchup nightmare. Guards can not handle him inside. If a BIGS takes him, May will space the court for triples and take the BIG away from the paint. Look for Jalen to have a very solid season in the EDC.

6’3 G [player_tooltip player_id="1133064" first="Kaleb" last="Larson"] || West Fargo Sheyenne || ECI || 2022

He may very well be the most underrated 3-point shooter going into next season in the EDC. Larson is a straight-up SHOOTER. He has a deep range with an easy release. I like how he shoots with confidence, it seems like he knows every shot is going in. He will help space the floor for the Mustang bigs. Kaleb’s size will aid him in getting his shot off against smaller guards. Look out for this 3-point artist from Sheyenne.

6’3 G [player_tooltip player_id="1159611" first="Leighton" last="Strommen"] || Northern Cass || ND Attack || 2022

You did not hear his name much last year because of all-star senior guard Crockett. Strommen should be the lead guard and playmaker for the Jags this coming year. He has been looking good this spring and summer in AAU ball. I like the looks of his jumper and he is skilled. I suspect that Strommen will be one of the better guards in Region-1 this season.

6’0 G [player_tooltip player_id="963750" first="Spencer" last="Barr"] || Aberdeen Central || Pentagon Schoolers || 2023

He has all the skills in his tool built to be a star. Barr is great at manipulating the tempo of the game, hitting jumpers, and being a persistent defender. Barr takes care of the ball, creates for others, and he passes people open. In high school or AAU, Spencer is the catalyst for his squad.

5-11 PG [player_tooltip player_id="1133069" first="Trevon" last="Rodriguez"] || Oak Grove || Next Level Basketball Academy || 2022

He will be one of the high-end PG’s in Region-1. His motor never stops. Trevon is a pesky and a quick on-ball defender. I like his finishing ability and his runner. Trevon has excellent handles and he changes speeds well. Look for him to have the Grovers as one of the top teams on the East side of ND in Class-B.

6-1 G [player_tooltip player_id="1133053" first="Tevin" last="Dietz"] || Beach || ND Attack || 2022

He does not get as much attention as he deserves because of where his high school is located geographically. Playing AAU has helped with his exposer and overall game. Dietz is a great athlete. He is a big, strong, physical, and athletic guard. Tevin is tough when going to the basket and playing fast in transition. Make sure you keep track of Dietz, the Buccaneer from Beach.

6’0 G [player_tooltip player_id="968158" first="Tristan" last="Nielsen"] || Castlewood || Pentagon Schoolers || 2022

He is having a great summer with the Schoolers. Nielsen has put his team on his back in a few tournaments and dropped 30+ points multiple times. Tristan is the ultimate competitor that refuses to lose. When he is in the zone and feeling it, the basket gets big and he can score with anyone. Make sure you check out the kid from Castlewood.

6’3 SG [player_tooltip player_id="1123122" first="Tyler" last="Kraft"] || Fargo Shanley || Next Level Basketball Academy || 2022

He has one of the sweetest strokes in the Red River Valley. Tyler shot the ball well last season, this spring/summer he is shooting it great. I really like Kraft’s elevation and form on his jump shot. His size and athleticism will make him a tough matchup on the wing. I am looking at Tyler as one of the top shooters going into next season.

6’6 PF [player_tooltip player_id="1050256" first="Will" last="Mayo"] || Des Lacs Burlington || ND Attack || 2023

He is a high-end rebounder. Mayo will be a double-double player next season. He is a "true" post that scores from the block. Will has some "old school" moves. This strong big-man will be eating people up next season. Look out for Mr. Mayo.

6’7 F [player_tooltip player_id="1050255" first="William" last="Ware"] || Bismarck Century || ND Phenom || 2023

He is flying under the radar after missing a few AAU events because of minor injuries. Ware is uber-talented and very athletic. If you put him on any team he would be a stud. William can guard, board, and score. He will be a force in the WDA next season. Look out for him in AAU ball for the rest of the summer.

6’5 F [player_tooltip player_id="1133224" first="Zander" last="Newton"] || West Fargo Sheyenne || 2022

You did not hear his name much last year because Sheyenne was stocked full of talented big men. Newton is a dunker, rebounder, defender, and 3-point shooter. The Mustangs will be deep again at the forward position. However, I do see Zander playing serious minutes for Sheyenne. I project him as a difference-maker for the Mustangs.

6’0 G [player_tooltip player_id="1135490" first="Zunekia" last="McGill"] || Fargo South || 2022

"Diamond" is an athlete that plays full of energy and enthusiasm. Last season the Bruins were led by Archechigo and Steckler, and they took most of the headlines for South. McGill should have the reins to the Bruins offense. I like his slashing and finishing ability. I am looking for Diamond to be an impact player in the upcoming season.
