Oklahoma City, Oklahoma — The Finale, presented by Prep Hoops was another stop on the Prep Hoops Circuit that brought out the best of the best competition, this time from all over the South and Midwest. This action-packed event was filled with talented recruits from slam dunkers to ankle breakers to knock down jump shooters. Here we’ll take a look at the 15U division's highest-performing and most efficient three-pointer and shooting specialst from The Finale.

[player_tooltip player_id="1235244" first="Gabe" last="Patterson"] | Small Forward | Tulsa Hawks 2024 Blue

6-foot-3-inch, [player_tooltip player_id="1235244" first="Gabe" last="Patterson"] has college range well out beyond the perimeter and he does not think twice about shooting it if given space. This fast trigger sharpshooter had an impressive way of getting his shot up extremely quickly when tightly defended, displaying the ability to hit off-balance jumpers while leaning or fading away. Patterson was most deadly and most efficient when letting one fly from the left side of the floor from both mid-range and long-range. He was also fantastic at scoring off of cuts to the hoop. [player_tooltip player_id="1235244" first="Gabe" last="Patterson"] proved to be an all-around reliable shot maker, even in clutch moments he nailed some big-time free-throws that helped the Hawks greatly in a few tight games.

Ahmadre Sanders | Point Guard | Mindset 2024

Lefty three-point marksman, Ahmadre Sanders caught fire and drilled 4 three-pointers against the Tulsa Hawks. Sanders stood out as a pure 3-and-D competitor that showed the potential to be a true catch-and-shoot specialist. This Point Guard stayed laser-focused with his eyes locked onto the basket anytime he let one fly. Defensively, Sanders was as pesky, hard-nosed, and competitive as they come, he got in great position and stayed just as low as his opponents’ dribble. One of Ahmadre’s best traits was his toughness, Sanders showed a willingness to sacrifice his body by taking charges under the rim from much bigger stronger players.

Mateo Mountford | Combo Guard | KC Runnin Rebels 2024

Kansas City Runnin Rebels guard beat defenses with his three-point shooting from the corners of the floor. Mountford did an exceptional job of moving around the floor and looking for an opening from the perimeter whenever he was playing off the ball. This quick trigger shooter proved to be dangerous off the catch as he got rid of the ball in a blink of an eye, showing good to great mechanics with a high elevation and a high release point. Mateo’s ability to contribute on and off the ball allowed the Rebels to open up the offense and spread the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="1204918" first="Dontrell" last="Watson"] | Point Guard | Nike ProSkills Austin 2024

There was no stopping this lefty once he got hot. Watson put up points with ease, it seemed like he never missed a shot and scored every single minute he was on the floor. Everything [player_tooltip player_id="1204918" first="Dontrell" last="Watson"] brought to the table was with a burst of quickness, his explosivity was impressive and is still developing. Watson let teams have it from all three levels of the floor. An unorthodox shooting form but the release was as quick as can be. This ProSkills guard had a left-handed runner that was his bread and butter, he was always able to get it up and over any contesting defender.

Tucker Shepherd | Shooting Guard | Enid Elite 2024

Lethal 3-point specialist with range out to the parking lot, Tucker Shepherd put his shooting prowess on full display. The difficulty of some of his long-range bombs was on another level, proving to be one of the purest and most reliable jump shooters in the building, someone the coach could call upon for a three-pointer, despite the situation or the spot on the floor. Shepherd knocked down shots from all around the arc in every way possible, making three-pointers off the dribble, off the catch, and off the screen. Tucker Shepherd is someone you must have eyes and hands on at all times, the slightest bit of space and he will let it fly, his insanely quick release makes him incredibly difficult to contest effectively. This shooting specialist also showed great shooting mechanics from top to bottom.
