Here’s more top prospects from NorCal that played well at the Cali-Live Summer Showcase during the live viewing period in SoCal this past weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id="766841" first="Jordan" last="Pope"] 6’2 PG of Oakland Soldiers 17U EYBL (Prolific Prep) 2022

Pope has been a steady performer who has played at a high level for a while now. He’s a threat to knock down shots from mid-range and behind the 3pt line with some consistency. He scores within the flow of the offense. He has point guard skills, with excellent passing and vision. He plays at a good pace and was one of the better scorers at this event. Keep an eye on him at EYBL

Damari Tate 6’4 CG of Stockton Soldiers 17U (Los Banos HS) 2022

Tate had such a good weekend he played himself into a couple of offers. He’s a long athletic guard with deceptive strength. He has good fundamentals to go with his ability to create scoring opportunities for himself. He plays with good balance, rarely takes bad shots. He has a good jump shot, and will take it into the paint for finishes around the basket with either hand.

[player_tooltip player_id="950938" first="Derek" last="Sangster"] 6’7 W/F of Real Run 16U (Archbishop Mitty HS) 2023

Sangster is a rising player in this class. At this event he showed what his capabilities are on the perimeter. He has an improving jump shot from mid-range and 3pt. He’s long with good strides getting up the court. He showed good handles, and passing in the open court. He got his share of rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119265" first="Michael" last="Lewis Jr"] 6’3 SG of Oakland Soldiers 15U EYBL (Saint Mary’s HS) 2024

Lewis has a good skill set, and plays with good intensity. He has a good shooting form along with the range to knock down 3’s at a good percentage from the corners, and wings. He has good bounce off the dribble, and handles good enough to create for himself and others. He converted several shots with defenders guarding him close.

[player_tooltip player_id="951342" first="Benjamin" last="Jenkins"] 6’1 PG of NBBA 17U Gray (Tamalpais HS) 2023

Jenkins always plays with great energy, he has what some might call a motor. When he has the ball he’s pushing as hard, and as fast as he can get up the court, he’s not out of control, he just excels playing that way. He attacks from different angles on the court, including the baseline. He has a good mid-range jumper and showed he’s a willing passer.

[player_tooltip player_id="950893" first="Kiku" last="Parker"] Jr 6’0 PG of Real Run 16U (El Camino HS) 2023

Parker is a thick guard with good strength, and handles to run the point guard position. He’s a player that can score off the dribble with strong drives to the basket, handle any kind of physical play, and can hit the pull up jumper. It looks like he’s making a conscious effort to improve his point guard skills. He showed good patience in the half court looking to get the ball to the post and the wings.
