<p>The Southern California Live Period saw SIX events held throughout Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties. </p>
<p>I was able to hit all but one event. </p>
<p>The final two events I hit from Week 1 were the Southern California Summer Hoop Review, hosted by NorCal event operator Gerry Freitas, and Dinos Trigonis Pangos Sweet 16. </p>
<p>Because I only was able to attend both events for a few hours, I’m combining my standouts in one report. </p>

<p>Crafty sharpshooter has limitless range, is a very underrated passer. </p>
<h3>Keshawn McNeill, 6-1 2022 PG, Zama American Middle HS/ Tokyo Samurai 17u</h3>
<p>Sturdily built floor general has solid burst and is an explosive scorer off of two feet in the paint. </p>
<h3>Roy Igwe, 6-6 2022 F, St. Mary’s International School/ Tokyo Samurai 17u</h3>
<p>Athletic utility forward has a tremendous motor and rebounded in and out of his area. Undersized, but solid paint defender. </p>
<h3>Mason Lee, 6-1 2022 G, Sabino HS (AZ)/ Ascending Life Saints</h3>
<p>Strong, physical three-level scorer who was a thief on defense, picking up guards full court in the press. </p>

<p>Rapidly improving big man has soft hands and touch around the basket, capable of defending switches in pick-and-roll. </p>
<h3>Kyle Evans, 6-9 2022 C, Santa Margarita/ Santa Margarita HS</h3>
<p>Most improved big prospect in 2022 class. Finishes everything around the basket, can step out and hit midrange shots, great screener. </p>
<h3>David Vuillemin, 6-1 2022 G, Murrieta Mesa/ Mesa Rams</h3>
<p>Flashy volume scorer has range out to the volleyball line, plays with lots of confidence. </p>

<p>Jack-of-all-trades utility guard defends, shoots it and is a fundamentally sound playmaker. </p>
<h3>Erick Chaney, 6-0 2022 G, Bakersfield Christian/ Cali Rebels 17u Select</h3>
<p>Burly, three-level scorer can fill it up in a hurry. </p>
<h3>Xair Mendez, 6-0 2025 G, Montgomery/ South Bay Show 15u</h3>
<p>Long, wiry scoring guard is a relentless penetrator, finisher in traffic, scores it from three levels. </p>
<h3>JJ Sanchez, 6-3 2025 G/F, Montgomery/ South Bay Show 15u</h3>
<p>Mismatch-creating forward has excellent ball skills, can shoot it from three and neutralizes opposing bigs with his interior defense. </p>
<h3>Alek Sanchez, 6-1 2025 G, Montgomery/ South Bay Show 15u</h3>
<p>High-IQ combo guard is an excellent passer who plays with great pace, poise and is an underrated defender. </p>
<h3>Ozzeno Diallo, 5-11 2023 G, Point Loma/ UTU San Diego 15u</h3>
<p>Athletic combo guard has really nice burst, gets downhill and can score it in the paint at will. Very athletic defender. </p>
<h3>Marc Mcintosh, 6-1 2024 G, Hoover/ UTU San Diego 15u</h3>
<p>Undersized wing is an explosive athlete, and a raw scorer off the bounce. </p>
<h3>Exavier Williams, 5-10 2024 G, Hoover/ UTU San Diego 15u </h3>
<p>Sweet shooting combo guard can fill it up from deep. </p>
