We got a chance to see a lot of players from Oregon this past weekend at the Las Vegas Summer Showcase. Here are notes on some more the top rising seniors that were in action.

[player_tooltip player_id="857344" first="Max" last="Von Arx"], Oregon Prospects 17U Select (2022 Grant)

Solid all-around effort all weekend, showing good motor on both ends especially crashing the glass. Outworked many taller opponents and was able to get a number of putbacks. Used his length on the defensive end to both grab steals and block some shots.

[player_tooltip player_id="1229389" first="Nate" last="Kindred"], Oregon Prospects 2022 (2022 South Salem)

Hard-nosed competitor that is willing to get physical both offensively and defensively. Shot wasn’t falling as well in the games we watched but has a nice stroke and the ability to catch-and-shoot as well as create off the dribble facing up, or from the post. Worked hard on the boards and on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id="1229384" first="Garrett" last="Osborne"], Oregon Prospects 2022 (2022 Redmond)

Had a great opening game, hitting a number of threes while also showcasing his athleticism getting to the basket and finishing. Outside shot was spottier after that, but his leaping ability did draw some attention from college coaches watching.

[player_tooltip player_id="857368" first="Connor" last="Hills"], Oregon Prospects 17U (2022 Barlow)

With Leo DeBruhl not playing having signed with UC Davis, Hills got more time at the point but pretty much played the same role. Took care of the ball, got it to others, played tough man-to-man defense, and hit the open shot when it was available for him.

[player_tooltip player_id="857351" first="Jordan" last="McCarty"], Oregon Prospects 17U Select (2022 Silverton)

Tough, competitive point guard especially on the defensive end and impressed the coaching staff with the way he played on that end of the floor. Didn’t really score much in the games we watched but he scored 14 points in the team’s one blowout victory in pool play.
