Team Comments from Lucas Moormann
—From the beginning of the ECI season to the end, this team made huge strides. Each player bought into defending and doing the little things to help our team be successful. I felt we were playing our best basketball as a team in the last two tournaments. We played well down in Atlanta going 3-2 against tough competition and ended with a 7th place finish in the Sanford Pentagon Tournament Series. The SPTS is a great league with the best competition in the Midwest and we took the eventual champs (MN Select) to the wire in the first round. This team competed in almost every game all year.

(2022) |6-3 G| Grand Forks Red River – Paine became one of our most consistent 3 point shooters as the year went on. He was also a huge factor on the boards and finished through contact at the rim to put himself at the line quite frequently.

(2022) |6-0 G| Fargo Davies – Ian became a great teammate knowing when to pick his shots in games or kick to his teammates for open shots. With his crafty moves he could get past almost all defenders to get in the lane and was able to score at the rim with his clever finishes. He also did a great job of defending and was one of our best rebounders on the defensive end even though he’s a guard.

Minot | 2022
State
ND
(2022) |6-2 G| Minot – Eric was the guy that got our team going. This kid was a leader and one of the best communicators on the floor that I’ve seen in AAU for a while. His willingness to do all the little things made our team so much better. He would defend, rebound, finish by gathering off of two feet, take charges, and make the extra pass to get his teammates involved. Eric will be a great collegiate player as he’s super coachable and will take on any role he is given on a team.
Alex Proctor Alex Proctor 6'1" | SG Fargo Davies | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-1 G| Fargo Davies – Alex grew a lot as a player as he was making good decisions down the stretch. He was thrown into more of a point guard role with our team and he is more of a wing/shooting guard. After a few tournaments, he started to understand this role and did a solid job of creating for his teammates. Alex is very athletic and put down some big dunks this year. He is really good in the open floor and is capable of making some big plays.
Elliot Hoff (2022) |6-4 G| Moorhead – Elliot is capable of scoring at all three levels. With his length and sneaky athleticism, he is a tough guard. I would say Elliot grew a ton with his confidence as the end of the year as he started to really score and attack the rim for our team. I think he’s going to have a huge year for Moorhead High this year.
George Gillette George Gillette 6'2" | SG Bismarck | 2022 State ND (2022) |6-1 G| Bismarck – George was a very coachable kid who understood his role on the team. If he catches ready to fire from 3 watch out! George is a confident kid who rebounds well for his size and will also throw his body in the lane to take a charge.
Paul Olson

Kindred | 2022
State
ND
(2022) |6-4 G| Kindred – Paul is a great kid who wants to do anything to help the team win. His fearless mentality showed throughout the year as he posterized quite a few kids! He had 1-2 dunks every game and was a consistent rebounder for us. He also shot the ball well from three when left open. Paul was a great on-ball defender as he altered many shots that players attempted. He also blocked many shots as an on-ball defender. I believe Paul will be an impact player at the next level.
Nick Carlson

West Fargo | 2022
State
ND
(2022) |6-3 F| West Fargo – Nick is the definition of toughness who also plays fearlessly. I would say Nick was the most improved as he just got better from tournament to tournament. Nick can play all positions as he can handle the ball, shoot the 3, but is best at finishing around the rim and through contact. Nick was also a great rebounder and defender since he could guard pretty much every position. Nick is also sneaky athletic as he had quite a few dunks on the year. I’m excited to see what kind of year he has in the EDC!

WF Sheyenne | 2022
State
ND
(2022) |6-8 F| West Fargo Sheyenne – Dom was probably the most consistent and solid player we had. He rarely made mistakes and was a fantastic team player. Dom is one of those kids who is probably too unselfish and is always looking to get his teammates involved first. I thought he really came on the last couple of tournaments when he was our leading scorer in a few of our games. He can score from three and has a really quick first step when attacking the rim. He is a really good finisher and crafty around the rim. Dom was also one of those players who can defend all positions by using his length.
