On July 3rd-4th I attended the Brawl for the Ball Prep Hoops Circuit at Inspire Courts in Gilbert. AZ. The event featured 40 teams from the 15U-17U divisions.

Players shine at different times during these events and we can only comment on what we saw when they played in front of us.

Here were some players under the radar:

Jeremiah Hanna PF 6’6 2021 Edison/CA (Splash City West 2022) (Pictured)

-Arguably the biggest motor of the event. He played like he was trying to earn a scholarship. He was on the glass every game keeping plays alive out of his area, blocking shots and he comes with some skill. He has a nice elbow jumper and uses his athleticism to defend in space. Hanna has multiple CC offers from CA.

[player_tooltip player_id="1231256" first="Jace" last="Reed"] Campo Verde (The Legion of Hoops 2022)

-A thick a powerful wing forward. He can get to the cup with a decent handle and carve out space and seemingly bounce off of defenders with his football frame. His best skill is his catch-3. The lefty has a compact stroke and it looks good every attempt. He rebounds well in his area and he can push the break.

[player_tooltip player_id="994327" first="Preston" last="Olney"] Coconino (Northwind 2022)

-A tough undersized guard with no fear. He has a quick burst to get into the lane and has a stronger stocky frame to take a bump to score. He can shoot it with range and has a mean pull-up off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id="827051" first="Jamison" last="Crispin"] Heritage Maricopa (The Legion of Hoops 2022)

-A two-way fast ball handler and on-ball defender. He moves his feet quick laterally and has real open court speed. He loves blowing by his defenders and scoring it in the paint with floaters and tougher contested layups. He is a capable perimeter shooter but is best currently getting downhill.

[player_tooltip player_id="1030455" first="Cameron" last="Stokes"] Pinnacle (Factory 2022)

-A long 3 and D forward. He has freaky long arms to play the passing lanes and rebounds well in his area. He can block a shot and his 3pt stroke could be a long term weapon. It is somewhat of a longer release but it comes out looking like roses as he squares up properly.

[player_tooltip player_id="827003" first="Micah" last="Pierce"] PHH Prep (AZ Select Showtime 2022)

-Another high motored power forward who is incredible on the glass. He is strong and has nice length and fights through traffic to corral the board. He is a capable 3pt shooter but can use more reps moving forward. He clearly makes his money on the glass and with put-backs.
