Bigfoot Hoops Las Vegas Classic: 2025 Standouts Part 2

For years Bigfoot Hoops has been a staple of the Las Vegas Summer Grassroots basketball scene. After a brief hiatus last season, the mega grassroots tournament returned to Sin City in 2021. This week, I pulled up to Bigfoot’s Las Vegas Classic. The event, which runs from July 21st through July 25th features hundreds of teams and thousands of players from around the country. With the new school year just around the corner, I used the event as one last opportunity to check in on some class of 2025 players as they begin their transition to the next level. In this article, a follow-up to 2025 Standouts Part 1 we take a look at our 2025 standouts from the Las Vegas Classic.

Kendan Jones 6’5 C PFB Elite (featured image) – “KJ” can play. Jones is an interesting player that continues to develop. A banger with some skill, despite his frame, he showed a nice touch and ability to legitimately stretch the floor. Jones is an intriguing player because of his upside.

Ray Johnston 6’4 C Select – Johnston is a good-looking young stretch big. He hit a cold-blooded 3 to send the game into overtime against a good Team New England squad. The big-bodied post also showed the ability to finish through contact when he caught the ball around the block.

Jaden Riley 5’8 CG Hard 2 Guard – The more I see of Riley, the more I like him. He’s one of the most unselfish players in his class, with the unique ability to get the ball out of his hand, creating scoring opportunities for teammates. With a loaded crop of PG’s in his state class (Nevada) he has a chance to separate himself as perhaps one of the purest.

Trey Hiatt 6’4 PF Utah Drive – Give me some Hiatt any day. The 4 man was one of the top rebounders I saw on the weekend, corralling both in traffic and out of area boards. For a guy that plays like a bruiser, Hiatt showed soft hands, catching interior passes and finishing around the rim.

Tayshaun Jackson PG Hard 2 Guard – Do not step on the floor against Jackson unless you are prepared to compete. The cornerback/PG is going to get after you on the defensive end and let you know about it. If the ball hits the ground, he’ll be first to it, and his blow-by and finishing ability was also on display in the game I saw.

RJ Ytterdahl PF Blade Elite – Ttterdahl was a high post demon who made several buckets against 2-3 zones. The high motor forward moves quite well for a man his size, shagging down loose rebounds and getting easy transition buckets.
