Battle For Georgia: 2022 Standouts Pt. 1

2022 6-8 F [player_tooltip player_id="1011352" first="Aidan" last="Hadaway"] – Atlanta Timberwolves – LaFayette
Another ankle injury hampered Hadaway and cut his Battle For Georgia short against the Atlanta Celtics, but before getting hurt, Hadaway was heating up. Aidan finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds. The double-double machine had his three-point shot working, scoring off the dribble from deep, a welcome sign that brings his ceiling to another level when consistent. Hadaway’s competitive nature was on display scoring inside and out. He never backs down from a challenge and uses his leaping ability and nose for the ball to dominate in the paint.

2022 6-5 G [player_tooltip player_id="1130591" first="Brayden" last="Baker"] – Atlanta Timberwolves – Richmond Hill
At 6-foot-5, [player_tooltip player_id="1130591" first="Brayden" last="Baker"] can play either on or off the ball. He’s a sharpshooter when setting his feet. When the ball is in his hands, Baker is creative. He makes nice passes to back door cutters and can facilitate when getting to the basket. When attacking downhill, Baker has shifty moves. He can score at the rim and has good footwork in the mid-range, able to hit turn arounds and pull-ups.

It was another freaky week from [player_tooltip player_id="948807" first="D’ante" last="Bass"], using his athleticism to tear down rims and gobble up rebounds. He had 16 points, 16 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals in a win over the Atlanta Timberwolves and then posted 8 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist in the 17U Championship. Bass is a nightmare to keep off the glass. Continuing to develop as a shooter will cement him as one of the highest upside players in Georgia. He’s more efficient as a forward in the paint, but he did stroke a three and went 5-7 from the line in his two games.

2022 6-7 W [player_tooltip player_id="948801" first="Kaleb" last="Banks"] – Atlanta Celtics – Fayette County
Known for his three-level scoring, [player_tooltip player_id="948801" first="Kaleb" last="Banks"] really impressed me with his defense and effort on the glass. He wiped away shots at the rim and was solid on the boards. Banks can guard different spots and has the foot speed and length to bother guards or pick up chase down blocks. Offensively, he attacked from all over.

2022 6-10 C [player_tooltip player_id="1043320" first="Emeka" last="Iloh"] – Atlanta Celtics – McIntosh
After missing a varsity season a year ago, [player_tooltip player_id="1043320" first="Emeka" last="Iloh"] is back to make an impact. He’s gotten bigger both in height and weight since last seeing him. Iloh is a strong mobile center that plays above the rim. He’s a strong rebounder that has nice footwork in the low post. Iloh can block shots and rim run for lobs. He will quickly appear on collegiate radars.

2022 6-8 PF [player_tooltip player_id="1227070" first="Nordin" last="Kapic"] – AC Georgia – Denmark
Hard hat and lunch pail is what the Austrian always brings to work. [player_tooltip player_id="1227070" first="Nordin" last="Kapic"] is a physically imposing man-child inside that is quick to rebounds and overpowers opponents under the rim. He can space the floor and get to the rim with a quick handle or can face up inside and beat his man baseline before powering into their chest. Kapic is very skilled and will see a lot of double teams in the post this season.
