2021 Spooky Nook Jam Fest took place over the weekend attracting over 300 teams from around the country. Here are a few Division II and Division III prospects from my time there.

[player_tooltip player_id="1204658" first="Justin" last="Perez"], RI Elite 22’: The best word to describe [player_tooltip player_id="1204658" first="Justin" last="Perez"] is solid. He does not blaze down the court with speed or dazzle spectators with athleticism, but that does not mean he doesn’t bring a ton of value to the court. This RI Elite team relied on Perez’s steady pace and consistent decision making throughout the tournament. Perez can light it up from 3 and handle the basketball with the best. While he is not blowing by defenders, he consistently makes sound decisions and does not turn the ball over. At 6’3, this skilled guard has scholarship potential.as he enters a post grad year at Springfield Commonwealth Academy.

Neel Beniwal, RI Elite 22’: Beniwal is an absolute specialist. The 6’5 shooter is impressive when he gets hot. He has excellent shot mechanics and footwork. He is able to sprint off screens, set his feet, and get his shot off on the move. At 6’5 his length and shooting ability should land him some offers. Beniwal does show much promise in the way of ball handling or defense however, he was able to not turn the ball over when chased off the line. Based on his length and his elite 3 point shot, I see Beniwal as a D2 to possibly LM scholarship player.

[player_tooltip player_id="1205459" first="Timmy" last="O’Toole"], Team Spartans 22’: [player_tooltip player_id="1205459" first="Timmy" last="O’Toole"] is a hard playing wing who does a lot of things well and nothing great. He proved he could rebound, finish in transition, and make open 3s. He is definitely a glue guy for his team and all his coaches rave about his effort and unselfishness. He is reportedly an impressive student and I would expect to see him as an immediate impact player at a high academic D3.

Jessie Killian, Pro Level Titans 22’: Killian is a 6’2 guard that is effective every time I see him play. Physically, he does not stand out, but he quickly draws your attention with his court vision, patience, and overall feel for the game. The efficient guard made very few mistakes and was able to create offense off of drives and ball screens. He is a good shooter and was able to make shots off the dribble and the catch. His biggest talent however, is his passing ability, setting up teammates for open shots all weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id="1081806" first="Joshua" last="Baldwin"] Middlesex Magic 22’: It is no easy task to standout amongst a Middlesex Magic roster loaded with division I talent. Baldwin seems to be able to do so every game. Baldwin’s biggest assets are his athleticism and physicality. The majority of Baldwin’s minutes, he will blend in with the team as a ball mover and a screener. Then, out of nowhere, he will slip a screen or cut into space and rise up for a thunderous dunk. He is a rebounding, screening, finishing 4 that knows his role and plays it well. He holds an offer from Le Moyne.
