Last season was a season of growing pains for the Wakefield Wolverines as they replaced a ton of talent from a squad that went 24-5 back in 2018-19. Now, it’s looking like the depth chart is rebuilt again as they’re led by [player_tooltip player_id="1126559" first="Jaxon" last="Brown"] (2022), Messiah Pitt (2022) and [player_tooltip player_id="1169275" first="Carson" last="Cryer"] (2022) with a ton of 2023 talent in their wheelhouse as well with the likes of Elijah Preddy, [player_tooltip player_id="998177" first="Nakhi" last="Benjamin"], [player_tooltip player_id="854926" first="Jalen" last="Yancey"] and others.

Preddy is the first name to know given his ability to be aggressive with the ball in his hands and dial it up from deep in bunches. He’s already turned heads on the grassroots scene with his abilities. Brown is another prospect that’s finding his way as a floor spacer and creator off the bounce. He’s starting to turn a corner at a key time.

Cryer is a floor general that makes things go in a positive direction. He isn’t afraid to sit in a stance and defend either, making him a solid two-way guard. Pitt is another 2022 prospect that’s a wiry prospect that can defend with pressure and make his presence felt in a variety of ways.

[player_tooltip player_id="998177" first="Nakhi" last="Benjamin"] and [player_tooltip player_id="854926" first="Jalen" last="Yancey"] are two of the wildcards in the equation. Both have the ability to play multiple positions on the floor and play a very strong, physical brand of basketball that should work wonders for Wakefield in the long run. They’re definitely a squad to keep an eye on heading into 2021-22.
