Mintz was a top 10 player in the Prep Hoops MD rankings since he was a freshman at Gonzaga, and with him transferring to Oak Hill Academy he enters the very talented VA class rankings as a top 10 player as well. A nationally recruited off guard, Mintz is a natural athlete that can play on or off the basketball, can create and make shots from multiple levels and is an excellent defender on and off the basketball as well. He impacts the game across the board and announced he will be making his collegiate decision soon, and he will make some program extremely happy to get him.

#25 [player_tooltip player_id="1217448" first="Anthony" last="Davis"] | 6’5” SF | Miller School

Davis transfers back to VA to attend Miller School after spending his last few years at Bishop McLaughlin in Florida, and he’ll be an immediate impact guy for the Mavericks this season. A strong built forward that can play inside-out, Davis is a walking mismatch with his ability to post smaller guys, put it on the deck and get to the rim and his ability to guard multiple positions as well. He’s a freak athlete that can play above the rim and he plays with a great motor making him impactful in a number of ways.

#68 [player_tooltip player_id="1217449" first="Gray" last="Proffitt"] | 6’5” CG | Douglas Freeman

Proffitt is one of my favorite finds of this year, as he was excellent during the winter in the CBG Winter Series and he has had a great spring for Rock It Sports as well. He’s a different kind of player, as he’s built like a small or power forward but he has guard skills including great feel off the bounce and the ability to get in the lane and make plays for others. He really knows how to play the game, he has an all-around skill set and he’s able to impact the game in a number of ways.

#73 [player_tooltip player_id="1217450" first="Jayden" last="Evans"] | 6’5” SF | Hampton Christian Academy

Evans is an intriguing long term prospect with his length, athleticism and high motor that he plays with on both ends of the floor. He’s an energy guy that thrives in transition with his athleticism, he rebounds well and he can guard multiple positions as well. As he continues to develop his skill set he could be a steal at the next level as he continues to improve on the offensive end.

#85 [player_tooltip player_id="1217451" first="Ryan" last="Newell"] | 6’6” C | Centreville

Newell was a big part of Centreville’s run to the Class 6 state championship last year, and he’s been playing very well for the NOVA Cavs this spring as well. The 6’6” big man is a good athlete that rebounds and can play above the rim, he knows how to use his body to carve out space in the paint and he has a good amount of moves and counters in the paint with good touch over both shoulders. He plays with a high motor and brings it on both ends of the floor, and he is very productive in a number of ways.

#86 [player_tooltip player_id="1217452" first="Kris" last="Mickens"] | 6’2” CG | Paul VI

Mickens has been overshadowed at PVI because he’s played with a lot of nationally ranked guards at a program that is known for putting them out, but he’s had a good spring with DMV Stags and is someone coaches should keep an eye on as well. At 6’2” he’s a guard with good size and thrives in transition when he can get downhill and play at and above the rim. He’s a good straight line driver, he’s a good defender on and off the basketball and he plays with good energy as well.

#89 [player_tooltip player_id="1217453" first="Michael" last="Cooper"] | 6’3” SF | Woodbridge

Cooper is a multifaceted wing that makes every team he’s on better with his versatility and high motor that he plays with on both ends. At 6’3” he’s a good athlete who thrives in transition, he can stick it from deep when left open and he can create off the bounce well for a guy at his position. What separates him from others however is his high motor and willingness to do the dirty work to help his team, whether it’s rebounding, defending or fighting for loose balls.
