If you’re like me and want to know where your state’s players are going to play at the next level, the next few reports are for you. We start today with the D1 recruiting report.

Adrian Griffin 6”7. Stepinac. Duke

The Duke blue devils will be getting a highly-skilled player. Can defend, rebound and block shots at a high level. Creates his own shot. Tremendous finisher at the rim. Has put in the time to impove his handle. Would have been the favorite for New York state player of the year, if we played this past season.

Raphael Andres Pinzon 6”6. Long Island Lutheran. St. John’s

Last year LUHI sent two players to the Big 10 ([player_tooltip player_id="766089" first="Zed" last="Key"] and Andre Curbello). So this year St. Johns came calling and secured two players for the Big East. Raphael can score at all 3 levels. He is very crafty around the rim. At 6”6, he is very capable of playing either guard position. Has been working on being a little bit more athletic.

[player_tooltip player_id="1047661" first="Malachi" last="Smith"] 6”1. St Rays Dayton

High basketball IQ. Seems to always make the right play. A consumate point guard. Knows when to get the ball to his teammates or when he needs to take over. A crafty player gets to the basket. Downhill player always attacking. Excellent mid-range game. Has worked on being more consistent from beyond the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id="1132415" first="Drissa" last="Traore"]. 6”9. Long Island Lutheran. St John’s

Freak athlete. Tremendous shot blocker. Scores around the rim. He’s worked on expanding his range. The Red Storm will love his outstanding leadership qualities and is the type of athlete who should flourish in coach Anderson’s style of play.

[player_tooltip player_id="1132413" first="Jordan" last="Riley"]. 6”3. Brentwood Georgetown

Patrick Ewing swooped in and snatched Jordan from St. John’s at the last minute. The Hoyas are getting a high school highlight film. He has chase down speed, can block the shot, and lead the break finishing it off with a thunderous dunk. Working on improving his range.

[player_tooltip player_id="1132416" first="Kacper" last="Klaczek"] 6”8. Long Island Lutheran. St. Joseph’s (PA)

St. Joseph’s is getting a point forward, stretch four type player. Elite athlete. Excellent three-point shooter but also can mix it up inside. Tremendous on the ball defender. Has worked on handling the ball better.

Paul Jordan 6”6. Long Island Lutheran Pepperdine

Excellent three-point shooter. An extremely athletic player runs the floor well. Working on rebounding and being more consistent from game to game.

[player_tooltip player_id="945516" first="Malcolm" last="Chimezie"]. 6”8. Stepinac. Boston University

Extremely skilled big man. Tremendous passer out of the post. Can face up and hit the 15 foot and in jumper. But can also take you off the dribble. Scores around the rim with either hand. Excellent rebounder and rim protector. Improving on his range especially in pick and pop sets. Potential to be Freshman of the year in the Patriot League.

[player_tooltip player_id="945536" first="Zaire" last="Williams"]. 6”2. Eagle Academy. Wagner

A tremendous shooter, can drill it from deep or take you off the dribble and pop the pullup jumper. Excellent rotation and lift on his shot. Physical player with the ball in his hand. Has improved at finishing at the rim.
