Pound for Pound 2022s

<p>After checking out some of the elite length in the class of 2022 yesterday, today we will be taking a look at some of the guys who pack a tremendous punch with their games while being more compact in terms of their frames. These are great basketball players who use their size, strength, and quickness well on the floor, or utilize elite shooting and playmaking ability to make impacts on the game.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="891904" first="Damare" last="Smith"], 5’11 Point Guard, Shawnee Mission Northwest, Run GMC (Pictured): An absolute hound on the floor from the point guard spot, Smith puts a ton of pressure on opposing guards on both ends of the floor with his quickness and agility. He has a quick bust both north and south and side to side with the ball in his hands, getting defenders on their heels while having a nice finishing arsenal in his game. To accompany his finishing ability, Smith also possesses a solid jump shot around the floor and has great vision to pair with solid decision making. He averaged nearly 18 points, 3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2 steald per game last season and has been on a tear this spring.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1076403" first="Brett" last="Sarwinski"], 5’10 Point Guard, Galena: The 3A player of the year is the epitome of toughness and leadership in the back court. Filling up the stat sheet and helping lead the solid Galena squad on a massive state tournament run with his ability to score in the paint and from 3, lock up on the defensive end, and rebound the ball extremely well from the guard spot. Sarwinski plays with a ton of heart and makes a tremendous impact on whatever basketball court he touches.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="891925" first="Adriel" last="Smith"], 5’10 Guard, Rose Hill: An absolute scorer in the back court and electric player who packs a ton of offensive punch in his game. Averaged over 24 points per game in his junior campaign at Rose Hill, showcasing an ability to get down hill, put pressure on defenses, and compliment his down hill game with an intermediate pull up and float game. Smith scores the ball in bunches, is strong with the basketball in his hands, and is one tough nosed guard at his size. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1076405" first="Howard" last="Johnson"], 6’1 Guard, Junction City, SSA Elite 2022 Black: A tough guard that plays with a chip on his shoulder, Johnson continues to expand his game from the simple scoring guard he entered the Kansas high school hoops scene as, into a well rounded back court player. This spring on the grassroots scene he averaged 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists while shooting over 46% from the three point line. A tough defender on the ball as well, keeping guards in front with his toughness, and rebounds really well at his size from the guard spot.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="952446" first="Skyler" last="Clevenger"], 6’ Guard, Andover Central, Midwest Magic: A solid guard in the back court, averaging 14.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1 assist per game for Central during his junior campaign. A nice cutter without the ball, can get into the paint off the dribble, knock down threes, and a solid passer of the basketball.
