Fargo, ND - Davies high school hosted the Metro Tournament on Friday. I was there in the morning and saw some great performances. The Bismarck Demons had the best team performance and the best Individual performance by Terysen Eaglestaff. The Demons team defense was phenomenal. They competed at a high level. Bismarck pressured all game in the fullcourt and trapped all over. The Demons rotations were great and timely. They got deflections, tips, and forced a countless number of turnovers. It was fun to watch!

Below we will look at the Top Players from Friday morning:

[player_tooltip player_id="1161486" first="Alex" last="Proctor"] (2022) |6-1 G| Fargo Davies - I liked the way he battled for rebounds this morning. His pull-up jumper looked smooth and accurate. Alex can elevate greatly. He had an impressive blocked shot that showed off his athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id="1135486" first="Anthony" last="Wanner"] (2022) |6-10 F| Fargo Shanley - He was battling down low. It seemed like he was getting to the line often. As everyone knows, that is where big men make their money. On one FT attempt, Anthony missed the shot, but he followed his shot and grabbed the rebound. He put it back in for an easy 2-points. This showed determination and focus. Like I have said before, Anthony has a ton of potential.

[player_tooltip player_id="812231" first="Brett" last="Limke"] (2022) |6-1 G| West Fargo - I have not seen him play since March in the State Tournament. Are you wondering if he can still shoot? Yes, he absolutely can. Brett’s shot looks as good as ever. He hit triples off the dribble and off the catch. Limke showed off his extended range from deep. I was impressed with his composure. He was constantly under duress from the Demon press, pressure, and traps. Limke stayed calm and cool. He has great patience and excellent court awareness. Brett showed his quick hands by picking the pocket of a bismarck ballhandler.

Derrick Lobbo (2022) |6-2 G| West Fargo Sheyenne - He is a spectacular athlete. Derrick can jump out of the gym. He works extremely hard on both ends of the court. He brought great energy this morning. Lobbo is a slasher and he likes to set up his teamates.

[player_tooltip player_id="812221" first="Dominic" last="Dosmann"] (2022) |6-8 F| West Fargo Sheyenne - He does not need to score a ton of points to impact a game. Dosmann is a great rebounder on O and D. He plays solid post defense and good help side. Dominic showed off a nice drop-step today, and he finished it against contact.

[player_tooltip player_id="1136404" first="George" last="Gillette"] (2022) |6-1 G| Bismarck - He was a pesky defender with quick hands and fast rotations. He shot the three with success. George worked hard on O and D. He had multiple tough finishes in traffic. Gillette has a nice hesitation move. Towards the end of the game, Gillette had an amazing acrobatic reverse layup finish.

[player_tooltip player_id="812229" first="Ian" last="Motschenbacher"] (2022) |6-1 G| Fargo Davies - He shot it well from 3-point land. Ian weaved through traffic on a tough drive and he finished the play with a finger-roll. His footwork is elite and he is a tough player. Motschenbacher is a playmaker.

[player_tooltip player_id="1133064" first="Kaleb" last="Larson"] (2022) |6-3 G| West Fargo Sheyenne - He is a shooter that spaces the floor and spots up. Kaleb knocked down multiple 3-pointers. He has a great stroke with extra-long range. Larson can hit it off the bounce or in rythem.

[player_tooltip player_id="1169136" first="Mason" last="Klabo"] (2025) |6-0 G| Fargo Davies - The fact that he competes and excels with varsity players still amazes me. Mason had a fantastic finish in transition that he finished with a sweet finger-roll. Klabo and [player_tooltip player_id="1167651" first="Max" last="Froslie"] executed a textbook screen and roll that led to 2-points. Froslie screened, Klabo penetrated and drew help. Froslie rolled to the rim and Klabo dropped a dime to him for the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="1161460" first="Nick" last="Carlson"] (2022) |6-4 F| West Fargo - His height and extra-long arms make him a shot blocker and advantageous rebounder. The best play I saw Nick make was an athletic spin-move in transition that left the defender in his dust. He also gobbled up multiple offensive rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id="812222" first="Paine" last="Parks"] (2022) |6-3 G/F| Grand Forks Red River - His shot of the day came from the right side of the basket with a defender riding his hip. Parks got off a 1-handed floater just over the defender, it was very high arcing, and soft. It kissed off the glass perfectly for two. He drilled multiple triples off the dribble and a couple more when spotting up. In the second half, Paine did some work in the post. He showed off fancy footwork and scored an easy basket. He is a great rebounder. On defense, he is strong and tough. Parks can body up and lockdown in the post. I was impressed with his jab step. He had a great showing this morning.

[player_tooltip player_id="1050247" first="Raymond" last="Brown"] (2023) |5-10 G| Fargo Davies - Like always he was full of energy and hustle. He looked smooth and quick while handling the basketball. Raymond was able to grab O-boards and give the Eagles extra possession. He helped Davies pick up a win over Shanley.

[player_tooltip player_id="1138811" first="Reis" last="Rowekamp"] (2023) |6-2 G| Grand Forks Red River - He looks bigger and stronger compared to the high school season. Reis is a big and athletic guard. He has a quality pull-up game. I like his finishing ability in traffic. Rowekamp is an awesome catch-and-shoot player. He will be an underrated player coming into the high school season. Reis will be a difference maker for the Rough Riders.

[player_tooltip player_id="1046352" first="Treysen" last="Eaglestaff"] (2022) |6-5 G/F| Bismarck - He was the best in the gym this morning. I did not keep stats but he had to of put up triple-double numbers. Trey ran the point and did the majority of the ball-handling for the Demons. Speaking of handles, Trey is ridiculous! His hesitation move is glorious. He dropped dimes and set up teammates all game long. Eaglestaff had multiple steals on defense when playing off the ball. He has great anticipation skills. Treysen has a soft and perfect runner/floater. One of my favorite shots of his, was when he pulled up short for a J and kissed the ball off the glass for 2-points. His pull-up game is top-notch. Treysen showed off his athleticism by picking off a pass and throwing down a 2-handed wham in transition. He also had a nice tip-in basket where he elevated above the rim. Trey has an ultra-soft shot. His pull-up 3’s in transition were great. I enjoyed his stop-on-a-dime floater, where he elevated over his defender. Get out and watch this kid play! Playing AAU with D1 Minnesota has elevated his game, he has improved quite a bit since March. Look out for BHS.

[player_tooltip player_id="1123122" first="Tyler" last="Kraft"] (2022) |6-3 G| Fargo Shanley - He shot it great today. Tyler looked like a solid shooter during the high school season. I believe he has elevated above that to a deadly shooter! His form is next to perfection, his balance is spot on, and he elevates perfectly. I did not get a count on how many 3’s he made this morning, but it was numerous. I also liked the looks of his mid-range jumper. Kraft is looking like he will be a stud next year in the EDC.

[player_tooltip player_id="1213170" first="Vuciri" last="Hakim"] (2023) |6-4 F| Fargo Shanley - He was an impressive athlete. Hakim showed off some skillful footwork with the Mikan move. He was impressive on the O-boards. Hakim is a crafty and smooth finisher. I was impressed with his physicality around the basket. I am expecting a big year out of him for the Deacons.

[player_tooltip player_id="1115649" first="Zach" last="Kraft"] (2023) |6-0 G| Grand Forks Red River - Every time I watch him play, I like him more and more. I think his hot spot might be in the corner. He always seems to be hitting corner 3’s. He is an unbelievably smooth player. Kraft showed off some anticipatory skills today when he picked off passes on defense. Look out for this sniper!

[player_tooltip player_id="1133224" first="Zander" last="Newton"] (2022) |6-4 F| - This long forward played hard and used his body well. He was making hustle plays. Zander grabbed multiple offensive rebounds and he contested many shots.
