Miles Song, 2023, Servite – Song was the beneficiary of tons of drive-and-kick opportunities where he used his smooth three-point shooting stroke to knock down triples from multiple spots of the floor. The 6-foot-2 rising junior is a threat to get hot from deep in a hurry and he isn’t afraid to pull the trigger when a good shot presents itself.
Al-amin Juma, 2022, Servite – Juma earned praise from head coach John Morris prior to the game as a high motor guy on both ends of the floor and he lived up to that billing. The 6-foot-5 forward has a strong frame and isn’t afraid of contact on either end. Juma is a good defensive rebounder for his size and showed the ball skills and touch around the basket to lead the break and finish at the rim through contact.
Tahaad Davis, 2022, Leuzinger – Davis was a bright spot for the Olympians in a loss to Servite. The 6-foot-2 rising senior is a creative scoring guard who fills it up in a variety of ways. Davis plays with good pace, gets to his spots and rises up for smooth mid-range jumpers with good lift. Davis also has good open court speed and body control that he uses to push the pace and create transition opportunities.
DJ Wilke, 2022, Saugus – It’s always a good thing when a new name pops onto the page for us and Wilke was that guy on Day 1. The 6-foot-2 senior-to-be had his do-it-all skill-set on display with his shooting ability standing out on the offensive end, while his toughness, motor and lateral speed turned heads on the defensive end. Wilke had a solid stat line of 13 points, six rebounds and three assists in a win for the Centurions and he made plenty of winning plays that don’t show up in the stat sheet.
Brandon Perez Brandon Perez 6'3" | SG Saugus | 2022 State CA-S , 2022, Saugus – We mentioned Perez having a good shooting night in an event that succeeded the Bosco Summer Classic, but he used Saugus’ win over Compton to get warmed up. The sharpshooting 6-foot-2 guard scored a team-high 22 points and took advantage of the catch-and-shoot opportunities in the half-court or the walk-in perimeter shots in transition.
