I spent my Friday evening bouncing between two gyms at Briarcrest Christian School.
Here’s the best from Friday evening.
Tyler Tanner Tyler Tanner 6'1" | PG Brentwood Academy | 2024 State #133 Nation TN , Brentwood Academy: Tanner is going to the Eagles’ floor general full-time for the 2021 season. That’s not a bad decision. Against Hamilton, Tanner made shots from the perimeter, made great passes to wide open teammates and communicated on every possession. Tanner plays under control and plays the right way. The 6-foot-0 point guard is going to have Brentwood Academy in great position for a successful season.
Marlon Mcshane, Hamilton: Mcshane is a speedy point guard that’s hard to stay in front of. In transition against Brentwood Academy , he displayed the way a player is supposed to think and play at the same time. Mcshane has a soft floater in his game and uses it when there’s a taller defender in the lane. The 5-9 point guard will have the Wildcats competitive in a lot of games in 2021.
Andre Watson Andre Watson 5'9" | PG Southwind | 2023 State TN , Arlington: The 5-9 point guard did everything he was supposed to do in the Tigers’ win over PAGE. Watson made sharp bounce passes to his teammates in transition, while also getting to his shooting spots when the opportunities were there. Watson can have a positive impact on a game, whether he’s scoring or dishing out assists.
Evan Eursher Evan Eursher 6'2" | PG Webb-Bell Buckle | 2022 State #244 Nation TN , Webb: Webb Bell Buckle might have lost to Memphis East by double digits, but Eursher made his presence felt on the offensive end. He was making shots from 3-point range. Eursher was the best shooter on the floor. He elevates high enough, and he has a near-perfect shooting form. Eursher will help Webb School a lot on offense in his final high school basketball season.
Markese Washington Markese Washington 6'5" | SF Memphis East | 2022 State TN , Memphis East: The 6-5 wing made his presence felt against Webb. Washington had two monster dunks in transition and was deflecting passes on the defensive end. Another great thing Washington did was contest shots at the rim. He’s a great piece for the Mustangs because he’s a player that’s going to give you positives on both ends of the floor.
