From the Commited to the Unsigned – Class of 2021 Update

In this article:
The class of 2021 had to cope with delayed or cancelled games and the lack recruiting visibility during their senior campaigns. Through it all, they still competed with hopes of achieving their dreams of playing on the next level. In this report about the class of 2021, I will highlight the latest on who is committed and/or signed in Louisiana and seniors who are still out there looking for a place to land.
The Committed and Signed
Here is a list of the latest who have committed to play on the college level. Everywhere from Division I to NAIA is represented on this list.

[player_tooltip player_id="977445" first="Jathen" last="Ross"] (6’2" - Xavier University)
[player_tooltip player_id="765931" first="Gage" last="Larvadain"] (5’10″ - SE Louisiana University)
[player_tooltip player_id="1123178" first="Artavious" last="Washington"] (5’10" - Centenary College)
[player_tooltip player_id="1123501" first="Jyrell" last="McClendon"] (6’6″ - Southern-Shreveport)
[player_tooltip player_id="1202245" first="Kentae" last="Williams"] (6’3" - Belhaven University)
[player_tooltip player_id="931054" first="Eric" last="McKnight"] (6’4″ - Centenary College)
[player_tooltip player_id="1045522" first="Kylan" last="Williams"] (6’5" - Louisiana College)
There are still some qualities players in the class of 2021 who are signed. A few of the notables are listed below.
Unsigned Notables
[player_tooltip player_id="566565" first="Zaheem" last="Jackson"] (6’3″ - Scotlandville) - The Scotlandville guard can table set and play off the ball. He attracts contact when he drives but he takes it like a champ. Jackson is as versatile as they come and is a winner. His versatility will make him a valuable asset at any school no matter the level.
[player_tooltip player_id="977264" first="Tydrick" last="Harrell"] (6’4″ - Marksville) - A 6’4" point guard is worth a look at any level. Harrell can get to the rim, does not mind dishing the rock, and is a solid defender. A college who gives him a good look may have a legit gem with him.
[player_tooltip player_id="765912" first="Randarius" last="Jones"] (6’7″ - Carroll) - The Carroll power forward has had suitors. He is 6’7" and skilled so someone will take a chance on him.
[player_tooltip player_id="530988" first="Delatrion" last="Moton"] (6’4″ - Woodlawn-Shreveport) - Moton and his high basketball IQ have yet to find a home. I would not be surprised if he ends up at Southern-Shreveport to add to the roster of north Louisiana talent they are building.
[player_tooltip player_id="765933" first="John" last="Mitchell"] (6’3″ - Captain Shreve) - Mitchell is an uber-talented guard who has historically played out of position. He can handle the rock and is good in the paint. A place to improve his guard skills would be a good home for him.
[player_tooltip player_id="765913" first="Brandon" last="Harton"] (6’4″ - Jehovah-Jireh) - It is hard to believe a four time state champion has yet to find a home. Harton is a good rebounder and can run the floor. A place to work on the consistency of his jumper would be ideal for him.
[player_tooltip player_id="931043" first="Darius" last="Young"] (6’5″ - Natchitoches Central) - The 1-5A MVP expanded his game and was a threat inside and out. He slimmed down as well so he is more of a threat off the dribble. Someone who is as good around the basket as he is should find a landing spot.
[player_tooltip player_id="931045" first="Jamaar" last="Moore"] (6’2″ - Washington-Marion) - Washington-Marion had an abrupt end to their playoff run which probably hinder some additional looks at this two way player. He is a dog on defense and can score from all three levels. He is truly a sleeper.
[player_tooltip player_id="1047885" first="Leonard" last="Jackson"] (6’3") from De La Salle should be signing soon and a couple of others have expressed changes coming as well. Prospect camps for 2021s are still being held with Dallas Baptist and Texas A&M-Texarkana having camps soon. 2021 players still have a chance to sign with summer right around the corner.
