These prospects have the talent to make an impact at the next level and some have already made a name for themselves during the spring season. Here are the top newcomers to the 2022 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="1012964" first="Joe" last="Carroll"], 6’7 SF/PF Blair Academy

Carroll has been making plays for Jersey Force all spring, which should carry over into Blair Academy this winter. The 6’7 forward is quite comfortable playing on the perimeter as he has a smooth release and can knock down triples in bunches. Carroll can also put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. He is a strong rebounder and an underrated passer. Carroll’s ability to affect the game in multiple ways on the offensive end is only going to benefit him as the summer AAU season goes on.

[player_tooltip player_id="1202198" first="Pat" last="Rogers"], 6’6 SF Rutherford

Rogers had a strong junior campaign for Rutherford and it has carried over into the spring for the NJ Panthers. The lanky 6’6 forward is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher and can draw contact. Rogers is more than just a slasher as he has a good shooting form and can knock down jumpers on the perimeter. He attacks the glass on both ends of the floor and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Rogers picked up an offer from Georgian Court in April, which could be the first of more to come.

[player_tooltip player_id="1202204" first="Ethan" last="Simmon"], 6’4 SG St. Joe’s Metuchen

Simmon’s versatility on the perimeter has given him big minutes for a talented NJ Panthers team. The 6’4 guard always sets his feet before he shoots and has a clean shooting form. Simmon is also capable of finishing around the rim and is an underrated passer. His length and athleticism gives him the ability to defend both guard spots. Simmon is a two-way guard prospect who has the potential for a big AAU summer season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1018561" first="Malcolm" last="Eley"], 6’3 SG Compass Prep

Eley is a tough-minded guard who does what it takes to win games. The 6’3 guard attacks the basket with a purpose and is unafraid of drawing contact. Eley can also score in the mid-range and is capable of running the offense in a pinch. He moves his feet well on the defensive end and is a strong rebounder for a guard. Eley is a grinder who will make a coach happy at the next level with his combination of toughness, skill and athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id="1202192" first="Naceir" last="Kirksey"], 6’0 PG Shabazz

Kirksey had a huge junior campaign as he led Shabazz to a remarkable 12-win turnaround from the year before. The 6’0 guard has a good handle as defenders have problems keeping him out of the lane. Kirksey can finish around the basket in a variety of ways and knows how to make shots through contact. He plays with quick hands on the defensive end and is an underrated passer. Kirksey is a scoring point guard who is looking to cap off his varsity career in style.
