WPIAL Recruiting Update – Offers after the Pitt Jamfest

<p>Pittsburgh was the center of the Prep Basketball universe last weekend.  More than 4,000 players passed through the David Lawrence Convention Center.  Thousands more showed up to enjoy watching some of the most highly recruited players in the country.  For many WPIAL players and fans, the Hoop Group Pitt Jamfest is the highlight of the entire year! The top programs from our region participated: Wildcat Select, Team Wildcat, PK Flash, and Caveman Basketball all had multiple teams entered in the various divisions. This was the chance for the hometown players to impress the multitude of coaches and scouts canvasing the Convention Center’s main hall.  In this article, we will list a few standout WPIAL players who took full advantage of the opportunity and subsequently received offers, or heavy interest, following outstanding performances at the Jamfest.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="990964" first="Brayden" last="Reynolds"]/ 6’3” / G / Chartiers Valley / Team Wildcat / @BradenReynolds5</strong></p> <p>Brayden had another solid weekend and added to his growing collection of offers, picking up three more. Mercyhurst, Pitt Johnstown, and Notre Dame College offered after Braden after the Jamfest.  Brayden is already holding a D1 offer from West Point.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Gavin Cote / 6’5” / G / Peters Twp/ PK Flash / @gavincote2</strong></p> <p>Gavin’s next-level perimeter game was on full display at the Jamfest. He had a breakthrough weekend with excellent, standout games against the following highly respected programs: Wildcat Select, Team Final, Virginia Premier, and Global Squad. Gavin was rewarded with his first offer: Millersville State of the PSAC.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="991193" first="Devin" last="Carney"] / 6’0” / G / Butler / PK Flash / @devin24carney_</strong></p> <p>One of, if not the highest-rated recruit in the WPIAL, Devin continued his spectacular play. He led the PK Flash to a 3-1 record in the most competitive division of the Pitt Jamfest. Devin was rewarded with another D1 offer, George Mason.  He was already holding five D1 offers: Duquesne, Drexel, Robert Morris, Bryant, and St. Francis (PA)</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="991215" first="Eli" last="Yofan"] / 6’3’” / G / Fox Chapel / Team Wildcat / @eliyofan</strong></p> <p>Eli led Team Wildcat to a thrilling come-from-behind victory against a very talented Team Stat Premier, in a Friday night Showcase Game at the Jamfest. He was fantastic down the stretch, taking the game over at both ends in the final minutes. After another solid weekend, Eli picked up an offer from Pitt Johnstown.  He is receiving heavy interest from the Airforce Academy, and an offer may be imminent.
