<p>Prep Hoops Missouri recently updated its Class of 2022 rankings. Here is a look at some of the top point/combo guards in the class.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="984502" first="Rob" last="Martin"] 5’9 CBC: A quick and speedy point guard who stepped into a prime time role after the graduation of McDonald’s All-American [player_tooltip player_id="580366" first="Caleb" last="Love"]. He’s a blur in the open court with three-level scoring ability. His pull up jumper is cash money. Averaged 17 points and five assists as a junior.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1182211" first="Colin" last="Ruffin"] 6’3 Nixa: A long and athletic point guard with size and a high basketball IQ. He has creative handles, good court vision and excellent 3-point range. He led a balanced Eagles team to a Class 6 district championship. He averaged 12 points, five rebounds and six assists as a junior.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="984512" first="Brian" last="Taylor"] 6’4 DeSmet: An excellent two-way guard with length and tremendous defensive instincts. He can guard on-ball and play the passing lanes well. He has very good playmaking skills and a perimeter shot to keep defenders honest. He averaged 13 points, five rebounds and four assists as a junior.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="991576" first="I’Ryan" last="Allen"] 6’2 Ruskin: Excellent two-way guard with length, quickness and leadership ability. He has 3-point range and the ability to create his own shot. As a junior at Ray-Pec, he averaged 16 points, 4.3 assists and three rebounds a game.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="984510" first="Drenin" last="Dinkins"] 6’0 South Iron:  A scoring point guard was a key figure in South Iron’s run to a state title. He’s a three-level scorer with deep shooting range and creative handles. He averaged 20 points a game in helping lead the Panthers to the Class 1 state championship.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1045830" first="Alex" last="Benassi"] 6’2 Lee’s Summit: A savvy point guard with good size, handles and playmaking ability. As a junior, he averaged 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals in leading the Tigers to the Class 6 state quarterfinals.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="985421" first="Casen" last="Lawrence"] 5’10 Westminster: A key figure in WCA’s state runner-up team with his slick ball handling, passing and 3-point shooting. As a junior, he averaged 12 points and three assists while making 77 3-pointers in helping lead the Wildcats to the Class 4 state championship game.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="993520" first="Messias" last="Dockery"] 5’10 Park Hill South: Point guard with excellent quickness which enables him to excel at both ends of the court. As a junior, he averaged 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="984957" first="Isaiah" last="Reams"] 5’11 Mexico: A smooth lefty who can touch the paint consistently on dribble penetration, get buckets and make plays for others. As a junior, he averaged 16 points, four rebounds and five assists in leading Mexico to the Class 5 state quarterfinals.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1045829" first="Tresean" last="White"] 6’0 Confluence Academy: One of the best at getting to the basket with his blow-by quickness and ability to change speeds. As a junior, he averaged 12 points, 5.5 assists and three steals a game.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="984956" first="Jaylan" last="Peeler"] 5’10 KC Center: A quick floor leader who was a key piece to Center’s conference championship team. He’s a capable ball handler and playmaker who is a capable bucket-getter when his team needs one. He is also a catalyst on defense with his speed.</p>
