The Summit May Madness-Top Guards

<p>This past weekend, the next generation of stars hit the floor for the The Summit May-Madness tournament hosted by Zero Gravity at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Pennsylvania. Here were some of the standout guards.</p> <p><strong><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/05/IMG_3969-rotated.jpg">Michael Williams-G-2023-Calvert Hall</a></strong><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/05/IMG_3969-rotated.jpg"><img class="wp-image-1194513 size-thumbnail alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/05/IMG_3969-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a></p> <p>Michael is a 6'4, 180 pound guard who has long arms and can defend well. On offense, he plays under control and sees the floor. Michael finishes around the basket with contact, and he can knock down shots around the perimeter. Overall, he will compete for the entire game. If Michael continues making shots behind the arc, and work on creating space for his mid range pull up, he will fit on D1-D2 rosters</p> <p><strong><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/04/Daniel-Dormu.jpg">Daniel Dormu-G-2023-Word of Life Christian (VA)</a></strong><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/04/Daniel-Dormu.jpg"><img class="wp-image-1168084 size-thumbnail alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/04/Daniel-Dormu-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a></p> <p>Daniel is a 5'9, 168 pound guard who is very quick and shifty. He controls the pace of the game with his court vision and ball handling. Daniel finishes well around the rim, and he can knock down shots behind the arc. On defense, he racks up a lot of steals and does a good job not fouling. His strength and competitiveness should not be underestimated. If he continues to improve pick and roll situations, he will fit well in many D2 programs. </p> <p><strong><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/05/IMG_4007-rotated.jpg">Joseph Thomas-G-2023-The MacDuffie School</a></strong><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/05/IMG_4007-rotated.jpg"><img class="alignleft wp-image-1194525 size-thumbnail" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/05/IMG_4007-150x150.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="150" /></a></p> <p>Joseph is a 6'5, 180 pound point guard who has great overall size for his position. He can handle the ball well and control the offense. On defense, he can defend both guard positions and some small forwards. He gets a lot of steals with his arm length. He can handle the ball well and get to the basket against most guards. Antonio can also knock down shots from the perimeter. Defensively, he has good stamina and anticipates plays well. He does a great job getting to the basket and finishing on either side. Josh can also knock down shots behind the arc. On defense, he is aggressive and anticipates well. If he continues working on creating space when shooting, he will be a good fit in a D2 system.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
