Prep Hoops Circuit’s Space City Collision brought elite-level hoops to Houston, Texas earlier this month with playmakers showcasing their skill set across all three divisions of 17U, 16U, and 15U. This article highlights a group of guards and wings who displayed elite shooting ability from three-point range during the tournament and were the top sharpshooters I saw in person.

Top Sharpshooters

[player_tooltip player_id="1203699" first="Corey" last="Ruben"] | 5’10" PG | Come 2 Compete 2022 (2022)

Ruben single handily had the top deep range shooting performance I saw from the weekend, making 8 threes in the game against Houston TTG and bringing his team back from behind to make it a tight game down the stretch. Ruben finished the contest with 24 points and was hitting dagger after dagger from beyond the arc in the second half. He caught fire in a hurry and showed great confidence in his shot while displaying some limitless range.

[player_tooltip player_id="1052157" first="Matthew" last="Lewis"] | 6’2" SG | Houston TTG 2022 (2022)

Another sharpshooter from the Houston TTG vs Come 2 Compete matchup, Lewis had an incredibly smooth shot from deep and nailed 5 three-pointers in the game. Lewis did it all as a shooter from the 2-guard spot, nailing shots on the move, knocking down shots as a spot-up shooter, and showing the ability to create on his own off the dribble. Lewis was consistently in ready-to-shoot positions, and pressure in his face didn’t deter him from knocking down big-time deep shots.

Dominic Leone | 6’2" SG | ATR Elite-Colorado 2023 (2023)

Leone brought a ton of energy and offensive firepower from the shooting guard spot for ATR Elite-Colorado, knocking down 3 three-pointers from the wings in the game I watched. Leone does a great job as a pure shooter from the wing and has a quick release and great lift on hit shot. His most impressive shot came on a transition three where he stopped on a dime and knocked down the shot effortlessly.

[player_tooltip player_id="1203721" first="Dominic" last="Samuel"] | 6’2" SG | Drive Nation Houston 2024 Black (2024)

An ultra-smooth three-point shooting wing who showed up with clutch shots for Drive Nation Houston, Samuel nailed 4 threes in the game I watched and hit daggers at different spots from beyond the arc. Samuel was terrific in catch-and-shoot situations, hitting on all of his attempts from deep and creating sizable momentum swings with each made shot.

Julian Creasy | 6’2" SG | CTX Knights Basketball 2024 (2024)

Creasy’s deep-range shooting ability was a spark plug for the CTX Knights in their game against Team United Texas Yellow, where he nailed 4 three-pointers in the second half. His gutty performance was impressive as he willed his way to make those deep-range shots while also creating off-the-dribble and making tough pull-up jumpers.

Cooper St. Aubin | 5’11" CG | Team United Texas 2024 Yellow (2024)

St. Aubin was lethal in his couple of shot attempts from deep, displaying a beautiful release and swishing his three-point makes. The electric and quick combo-guard has a pure shot and did a good job picking and choosing his deep-range attempts. Displayed some serious range and the ability to knock down tough shots on the move and coming off screens.

[player_tooltip player_id="1204918" first="Dontrell" last="Watson"] | 5’11" PG | Nike ProSkills Austin 2024 (2024)

Watson was efficient with his shot attempts in the game I watched, knocking down 3-of-4 attempts from beyond the arc. He let the shots come to him, didn’t force anything, and took advantage of the defense sleeping on his deep-range shooting ability. Watson was particularly good at hitting threes off of second chance opportunities from his team kicking out offensive rebounds, with all of his makes coming from spot-up situations.
