Fort Worth, Texas — Prep Hoops Mayhem In The Plex lived up its hype with thrilling games, rim-rocking slam dunks, lights-out shooters, and dynamic scorers. Highly-ranked players throughout the country showed up and showed out, making the event as special as ever. Here we’ll take a look at some of the top-performing leapers and shot blockers from this marvelous weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id="959247" first="Kyron" last="Henderson"] - Power Forward - Texas Swish - C/o 2022

Supreme athlete, [player_tooltip player_id="959247" first="Kyron" last="Henderson"] puts the power in power forward. His special athleticism is what makes him such a phenomenal leaper that can jump out of the gym. Henderson came skying down the lane, punching the loudest rim-rocking one-handed tomahawks dunks that rang throughout the gym. [player_tooltip player_id="959247" first="Kyron" last="Henderson"] can easily get 20 points off of dunks alone, he looked to do one thing anytime he attacked the lane and that was put a man on a poster. He did it so often that the defenders eventually started moving out of the way whenever he was on the drive to the basket with reckless abandon. This young man has next-level strength and aggression that he used greatly to his advantage especially when rebounding, he believed every board was his and he tried to putback most offensive boards with a dunk. On the defensive end of the floor, Henderson made players think twice before attacking his side of the basket, even when he jumped late you could still rely on him to get the block or deflection. [player_tooltip player_id="959247" first="Kyron" last="Henderson"] has continued to show everyone why he’s one of the best dunkers and shot-blockers in the city.

Isaiah Dixon - Center - Team F.O.E. Black 2023 - C/o 2023

Isaiah Dixon had such a dynamic presence on both sides of the ball that he couldn’t help but stand out. Offensively, the F.O.E. center was a true dump-off threat in the post, he continuously cut backdoor whenever his teammates drove to the basket, giving them an extra option which usually resulted in a mean two-handed slam from Dixon. Defensively, he was an enforcer that either made players think twice before driving all the way into the lane or forced guys into taking tough off-balance shots, even when the offense thought they had an open shot opportunity Isaiah Dixon came out of nowhere and altered things for the better. He continues to show that he’s an explosive athlete with quick bounce and great timing that allows him to swat shots away with authority, sending them flying the other way. Isaiah Dixon is strong, with broad shoulders, and he's physically imposing, with size and strength that’ll translate perfectly at the college level.

Caden Steward - Center - Rogue 2023 - C/o 2023

This 6-foot-9-inch Oklahoma prospect appeared to be a fluid, mobile, and athletic center that positioned himself under the rim and ran the floor extremely well often beating opposing big men down the court for easy layups and dunks. Steward may be known for his all-around skillset but it was his athleticism that stole the show. Caden Steward displayed great body control and coordination at his position, he also functioned well without the ball utilizing backdoor cuts to the hoop that most defenses didn’t see coming. Caden Steward’s versatility is what sets him apart, his potential and upside are off the charts, he’s definitely a name to remember going forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="1188988" first="Augustine" last="Chibuko"] - Small Forward - BBSS National 2023 - C/o 2023

This highly active forward has a motor that doesn’t quit, his hustle on the boards and for loose balls was incredible. Chibuko was willing to compete against anyone for everything, showing great physicality and a fearless nature. Augustine did everything with aggression, energy, intensity, and passion and it rubbed off on all of his teammates and even some spectators. Whenever [player_tooltip player_id="1188988" first="Augustine" last="Chibuko"] upped his play, everyone else on the team did as well. The BBSS forward displayed phenomenal use of his strength and length when crashing the boards, often pulling down rebounds right off the rim over multiple players. Offensively, this 6-foot-6-inch ballplayer proved to be a solid finisher around the basket, he played above the rim and completed plays with crafty layups through traffic. When playing against a tough Team Rogue squad, [player_tooltip player_id="1188988" first="Augustine" last="Chibuko"] put on an outstanding performance of 16 points, and 5 blocks along with a handful of steals and rebounds to go with it.
