There was a ton of talent on the floor at the Prep Hoops event in Wichita last weekend. Guys demonstrated a variety of skills. Some of them showed off their great stroke.

Here is a look at some of the top shooters at the Midwest Grind Session:

[player_tooltip player_id="1195611" first="Nathan" last="Adams"], 2022, 6-foot-2 forward, WKE White, Pratt-Skyline HS:

Adams was one of the most impressive shooting big men in Wichita. He’s got a powerful build and plays big, but he’s got a nice touch from the perimeter. He shoots the ball high, with a smooth release. He finds spots and gets his feet set, ready to pull the trigger.

Mikai Blakeney, 2022, 6-foot-4 forward, KC Spurs White, Olathe East HS:

Blakeney is a long, smooth shooter. He has deceptive athleticism to get around the court and find spots without a lot of effort. He catches the ball ready to unleash his graceful shot from deep. Blakeney has long arms and releases the ball high, and he showed off some deadly accuracy.

[player_tooltip player_id="1080178" first="Britton" last="Dutton"], 2023, 6-foot guard, Midwest Magic Elite – Hernandez, Ellinwood HS:

Dutton is a scorer. He’s not just pulling the trigger from beyond the arc. He has a full arsenal of shots on the move. He gets off his jumper off the dribble going forward, gliding to either side, or stepping back. He’s got a quick release that comes at the peak of his jumper to shoot over bigger defenders.

Jaxon Hurla, 2022, 5-foot-9 guard, SSA Hoops Elite Blue, St. Marys HS:

Hurla is a deadeye from deep. He hit a bunch of 3-pointers over the weekend. He’s a pass-first guard who handles the ball well, so he’s not just about getting his own shot. But if he’s left alone, he has a fundamental and smooth shot and the knowledge of when to pull the trigger.

[player_tooltip player_id="1049321" first="Caleb" last="Leslie"], 2022, 6-foot-1 guard, Tulsa Hawks Blue, Owasso HS:

Leslie is a tough competitor who isn’t just a shooter. He works hard in every aspect and is a solid ball handler. But give him a step, and Leslie will drill threes, like he did when he put down four against Oklahoma Chaos.

[player_tooltip player_id="1010549" first="Trey" last="Pulford"], 2022, 6-foot-1 guard, Missouri Flight, Willard HS (pictured):

You know you are good when the minute you come in the game, everyone on the opposing team starts yelling ‘Shooter!’ Pulford built a reputation quickly at Wichita, draining 3-pointers at a high rate. He’s a good ball handler who can get to an open shot on his own. He’s going to knock down catch-and-shoot opportunities, too. He’s a good athlete and defender to boot.

Other top shooters at the Midwest Grind Session:

Jon Jon McKee, 2022, 6-foot-4 forward, Team Buddy Buckets OKC, Oklahoma Christian School

[player_tooltip player_id="1049322" first="Caleb" last="Nibbelink"], 2022, 6-foot-2 guard, Tulsa Hawks White, Broken Arrow HS

[player_tooltip player_id="1162514" first="Luke" last="Tolbert"], 2022, 5-foot-11 guard, TBB KS, Garden City HS
