There was a ton of talent on the floor at the Prep Hoops event in Wichita last weekend. Guys demonstrated a variety of skills. Some had the size and post game to dominate in the paint.

Here is a look at some of the top bigs at the Midwest Grind Session:

[player_tooltip player_id="1075931" first="Jace" last="Linenberger"], 2022, 6-foot-6 post, Midwest Magic Elite – Hernandez, Hays HS:

Linenberger was a warrior for the Magic all weekend. He faced off against some huge, athletic bigs game after game, culminating with a showdown against the enormous front line of the KC Spurs Black. He scored 16 against that foe, demonstrating that the success he’s had Hays translates to top opponents.

[player_tooltip player_id="1150476" first="Teddy" last="Reedybacon"], 2022, 6-foot-10 post, Victory Ministry, MacDonald County HS:

One of the tallest at the event in Wichita, Reedybacon showed great fundamentals in the post. He has good hands and a soft touch around the rim. He works hard to get position, where he has solid moves and never gives up on a play. He contests shots in the lane and is a willing passer.

[player_tooltip player_id="1070088" first="Kaden" last="Stuckey"], 2023, 6-foot-8 forward, Missouri Flight, Greenwood HS (pictured):

Stuckey played up against older opponents and showed some athleticism. Not just a pure post, he can run floor and put the ball on the floor. He is willing to move out to get off his jumper from midrange.

Joshua Symonette, 2021, 6-foot-6 post, Perry Ellis 34, Life Prep Academy:

There were a handful of athletic big men at the Midwest Grind Session, but perhaps none more athletic than this guy. He can leap out of the gym and contests shots above the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="889464" first="Will" last="Townsend"], 2021, 6-foot-5 post, KC Spurs Black, Shawnee Mission East:

Townsend teamed with some other outstanding bigs, including [player_tooltip player_id="984943" first="Kortez" last="Stevenson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="889456" first="Antwaun" last="Massey"], to make for an unbeatable front line. Townsend is so sound and team-focused, he doesn’t show off a ton of flash. But he’s got great hands, is able to catch the ball and make plays anywhere around the paint, and doesn’t make mistakes. Add to that, he’s got a mature, powerful build that doesn’t get pushed around.

George Nikolov, 2022, 6-foot-7 post, Midwest Magic – Resa, Derby HS
