Gauntlet on the Gulf: 16U All-Tournament Team

First Team

2023 5-10 PG Charles Moore – South Florida Shockers

You honestly could pencil in Charles Moore for 20 points every time he stepped on the floor. He was the alpha for the Shockers. Moore lived in transition, but also killed opponents in the half court. He was comfortable dictating the tempo and never forced the issue. His deep three-point range helped open up the floor for himself and others.

2023 6-4 W [player_tooltip player_id="1204747" first="Shamarrie" last="Hugie"] – Georgia Ignites

Savannah has a budding star in [player_tooltip player_id="1204747" first="Shamarrie" last="Hugie"]. The chiseled wing produces in various ways. He’s a three-level scorer, a tough rebounder, an improved playmaker and a versatile defender. D-I programs will want to keep a close eye on his development.

2024 6-4 W VJ Edgecombe – South Florida Kings

Playing up an age group didn’t hinder VJ Edgecombe. He fit right in as a rim-seeking swingman. Edgecombe was graceful attacking the hoop. While on the thin side, Edgecombe was still strong enough to finish through contact and used advanced body control to score downhill.

2023 6-0 PG Madrecus Moreland – Alabama Celtics

Wired-to-score, Madrecus Moreland set the tone for the Alabama Celtics with his aggressive nature. He was always in attack mode, hunting his offense. Moreland kept defenses on their toes as he would fire from anywhere on the floor. He was the Celtics’ go-to guy on many occasions.

2023 6-5 W Josh Verdine – Team IAMHE

An interesting wing that could score in the paint and on the perimeter, Josh Verdine was a mismatch for most. He hit the mid-range jumper and could stretch the floor to the three-point line. If he got a matchup he liked on the wing, he would blow by the defender and finish at the rim.

Second Team

2023 6-5 F JJ Williams – Alabama Celtics

2023 6-1 G [player_tooltip player_id="1045883" first="Keith" last="Floyd"] – Georgia Ignites

2023 6-3 G Qurahn Anderson – Team Intensity

2023 5-8 G [player_tooltip player_id="1147608" first="Zyere" last="Edwards"] – Team Intensity

2023 6-1 G Ben Cahill – Jupiter Jaguars

Third Team

2023 6-6 F [player_tooltip player_id="709217" first="Jeremiah" last="Augustin"] – Jupiter Jaguars

2023 6-0 G Jackson Baer – Jupiter Jaguars

2023 6-6 F Joachim Ametepe – South Florida Shockers

2023 5-8 G Malik Black – Alabama Celtics

2023 5-8 PG Ezequiel Munoz – Filling the Lane 2023 Elite
