Continue ReadingAs we continue with our coverage from the A1 Exposure AAU Tournament in Erie, Pennsylvania our attention turns to the Class of 2022 from western PA and other surrounding areas. This being a national qualifier tournament, a variety of teams made the trip to Erie. While very similar to the class of 2023, many high school contests brought tremendous skill levels to these games. With this as the final year for AAU for most of these juniors, they really made this experience count. The tough-fought games and the ability to rise to the occasion in a packed house separated some of these players from the pack. Here we list a talented group of players that put on a show this weekend…
Class of 2022:
Will Kromka / Gateway High School
- AAU Team: Team Wildcat
- 6’4 guard/forward
- He has a high basketball IQ and is a proven leader on the floor
- Will looks to make every around him better and is a consummate team player
Markus Frank Markus Frank 6'5" | PF Quaker Valley | 2022 State PA / Quaker Valley High School
- AAU Team: Prospects
- 6’5 small forward/power forward
- A long, lanky player who can score in bunches during a game
- Markus is an excellent rebounder on both ends of the court
Jaden Gales / Bishop Canevin High School
- AAU Team: Team Wildcat
- 6’4 wing forward
- An extremely athletic talent that can score in the half-court set or in transition
- Jaden has a high upside and if he continues to perform well his college opportunities will increase this summer
Isayah Mosley / Montour High School
- AAU Team: Team Wildcat
- 6’5 power forward
- A solid, strong-bodied performer that knows how to use his body in the paint
- Isayah does whatever is needed to help his team be successful
Brevan Williams Brevan Williams 6'5" | SF Greensburg Central Catholic | 2022 State PA / Greensburg Central Catholic
- AAU Team: Team Wildcat
- 6’4 wing forward
- He has the talent and ability to score from a variety of spots on the floor
- Brevan is a skilled offensive rebounder and has great court awareness
Anthony Franchi / Beaver Falls High School
- AAU Team: Prospects
- 6’3 guard/forward
- An all-around talented player with the creative mindset to develop his game and make others better
- Anthony has the high motor to make plays on defense that transitions into offense for his team
James Sitter / Franklin High School
- AAU Team: Team Wildcat
- 6’4 guard/forward
- He has a high basketball IQ and works hard on his game all year round
- James always looks for his open teammates and is an unselfish player
Ryan Herman / West Allegheny High School
- AAU Team: Team Wildcat
- 5’10 guard
- This quick, shifty guard makes quality plays on the offensive end of the floor
- Ryan has the ability to knock down the deep three-point shot and is an excellent free-throw shooter
Make sure as the weekends pile up this spring and summer you take a drive to check out some of these talented members of the 2022 class in the Pittsburgh region. Hopefully, the COVID pandemic continues to stay moderate so all of the players can move forward with their participation in many more tournaments this AAU season. I promise these boys will not disappoint from the tip-off to the final buzzer…
