The CHSSA finally was able to put the spotlight on this talented group of players. The class of 2024 already has interest and offers from D1 programs. These are the players who after a long wait to get their high school careers started came out with their whole arsenal.

[player_tooltip player_id="1195555" first="Ian" last="Jackson"]. 6”5. Cardinal Hayes HS

During this tournament, Ian received another scholarship offer. St. Johns was added to the list that already included Seton Hall, Kansas State. Has a world of talent. A high-level athletic skill level. Strong to the basket. Tough rebounder. Plays through contact. Has developed a nice euro step in the open floor to finish at the rim. Has been working on improving his range.

[player_tooltip player_id="1195602" first="Nasir" last="Rodriguez"]. 6”4. Monsignor Scanlan HS

Has an offer from Robert Morris. After watching him no doubt more offers will be coming. A little bit under the radar in this group. Very active hands. Can finish strong at the rim in transition. Showed ability to score the ball in a variety of ways. Drills the three from deep range. Improving his handle.

Boogie Fland. 6”2. Stepinac HS

We have written up Boogie many times. His list of suitors is now 13. Miami, St Johns, Kansas State, UCLA, Seton Hall, Pitt. Just to name a few. Can handle the ball. Extremely talented. High motor and basketball IQ. Can drive it baseline or push it down the lane. Scores in a variety of ways from deep threes to floaters or reverse layups. A possible player of the year in the State of New York by the time his career is over.

[player_tooltip player_id="1195565" first="Eric" last="Mejia"]. 6”2. Cardinal Hayes HS (pictured)

Excellent vision. Gets to the rim. Makes a difficult pass look easy. Head is always up looking to make a play. A playmaker. Has worked on his outside shot and it shows. Bryant has offered a lot more schools should.

[player_tooltip player_id="1195618" first="Jakai" last="Sanders"]. 6”3. Bishop Loughlin HS

Excellent in transition. Attacks the basket. Quick first step. Has the basketball sense against pressure to back peddle and make the right pass to break the press. Uncanny ability to find the ball. Excellent shooter. Another player from this class with many offers to come his way. Right now Bryant has offered.

[player_tooltip player_id="1195564" first="Nas" last="Simmons"] 6”1. Cardinal Hayes HS

Has 2 offers from Manhattan and Bryant. Excellent skill set. Real good in transition. Nice handle. Ability to shoot it. In this tournament also showed his willingness to mix it up inside to rebound.

Kerri Cunningham. 6”4. Nazareth HS

Nazareth made it to the semi-finals of their side of the bracket. In the games, Kerri was able to play in he made a difference. A big body bruiser. Works extremely hard on both ends of the floor. High basketball IQ and court awareness. A little raw but has he gains experience he should be a high-quality player for the program. A player for college coaches to have on their radar.
