Today, we are going to recap what we saw from a few of our 2024’s that stood out and provide our evaluations.
All Area Basketball Program 2024 Black
Deante Smith 2024 5’9″ Connersville – Smith is a shorter lead guard that is pretty shifty. Quick first step on the drive and utilizes a floater well from all angles. Quick looking look jumper but needs some consistency. Size not too much of a factor right now.
Johnny Manor 2024 5’5″ Delta – Manor is a very short lead guard that has a ton of scrappiness to his game. Surprisingly likes to drive and utilize a quick floater. Relies a little too much on his right hand and is not super quick right now. Once a growth spurt hits that should help his development as a player to an extent. Kid is tough as nails, however.
Kaiden Bond 2024 5’9″ Delta – Bond is a short guard that can also light it up. Confident looking jumper and does a great job of finding the open man if he does not have a shot. Needs to grow some more and it is kind of hard to tell if he will be a lead or off guard yet. Either way he should continue to be a consistent outside threat.
Caleb Jones 2024 6’3″ Delta – Jones is an aggressive forward that plays real hard. Showed a little rawness here but finished at the rim pretty well. Great rebounder and was really at his best when he rolled to the basket off a screen. No outside jumper as of yet but think that would be his next thing he would need to work on adding.
Indiana Game 2024 Grey
Landen Delich 2024 6’2″ Crown Point – Delich is a taller and strong 2G. Has a lot of length and uses that length to his advantage on the defensive end. Jumper is not quite there yet but has a strong right handed drive. More of a 2G right now but could see transition into more of SF long term.
Lou Campbell 2024 5’8″ 21st Century – Campbell is a very short lead guard with some smoothness. Not overly electric on the court but plays within himself. Had a great defensive sequence where he had a block and then intercepted a full court pass on back to back plays. Looks like he should grow some more as well.
Tipping Point 2024
Cole Shively 2024 6’1″ Triton – Shively is a taller guard with a high motor. Had a 3 off the catch early but stuck mostly on the drive for the rest of the game. Does a great job on the drive and dish as he got a few assists from that move. If he was not dishing it off he was finishing well for the most part. Solid performance from Shively here.
Keegin Stats 2024 6’0″ Northwood – Stats is a shorter lead guard with a strong frame. Solid rebounder for a lead guard and made some real strong bounce passes. Defends well and had a steal. Pretty smart player from it looks like and plays the lead guard spot well. May need to see his jumper a little bit more.
Tyson Frey 2024 6’3″ Fairfield – Frey is a huge PF with a real wide frame. Great rebounder and was one of the better pick and roll posts I had seen on the day. Not super quick but moves well off the ball. However, post moves with the ball still need some work as he really never went anywhere with that. Think there is some upside in Frey so far.
All Area Basketball Program 2024 Gold
Jayden Furney 2024 6’1″ Delta – Furney is a lead guard that can really light it up if the defender is not careful. Had a few 3s off the catch and was stepping into his shot with confidence. Plays tough defense and had a huge defensive stop in the final seconds of the game that secured the win. Furney looked really good here.
D’amare Hood 2024 6’3″ Delta – Hood is a tall wing with a ton of athleticism. Crashed the glass aggressively and has a solid amount of quickness to him. Has a lot of length and showed that off on both ends. Had a big block on the defensive end and showed his ability to shoot it from deep. There is a ton of potential in Hood right now.
Mason Harvey 2024 6’6″ Seton Catholic – Harvey is a very tall post defender that can really stretch the floor on offense. Played mostly around the wing this whole game and after a few misses he sanked 3 outside jumpers in row. Solid shot block but needs to get stronger. Need to see a little bit more from him in the post as him sticking to wing is probably not be the long term goal here. Harvey is an interesting prospect.
Indiana Game 2024 Blue
Aiden Austin 2024 5’7″ Andrean – Austin is a shorter lead guard with a ton of quickness. Pretty strong and has some great ball handles. Shoots the ball fairly well off the catch but likes to drive more often than not. High IQ type of player that defends pretty well.
Alex Austin 2024 5’7″ Andrean – Austin is a shorter guard that has a similar game as his twin brother. Gets to the rim real well but needs to work on finishing. Quick and has the good ball handles just like his brother. The only thing I noticed that Alex does different than Aiden is that Alex shoots the ball just slightly better at the moment. Can’t really say if one brother is better than the other just because they play so similar.
94 Feet Elite 2024
La’montae Cross 2024 5’9″ 21st Century – Cross is a shorter lead guard that plays quick every possession it seems. Handles the ball well and has a real nice crossover move. Does not look to be much of jump shooter as his game is the drive and possible dish off or kick out. Size not a factor at the moment and once he gets that growth spurt I think his game will open up a little more.
Jakhari Mackey 2025 6’3″ Lake Ridge – Mackey is a taller shooting guard with a good amount of skill already. Consistent scorer at all three levels showed flashes of high level athleticism. Gets down and plays defense and is so quick going left and right and can block shots. Mackey is going to be one those guys that is going to be really good by his senior year.
INB 2024 Elite
Anthony Garrett 2024 6’5″ Home School – Garrett is a taller wing with athleticism and a good amount of agility. Has some speed and with his lankiness he has those long strides that he uses to the rim. Defense is solid and even had a steal and a fastbreak score. Needs to add weight but the talent looks to be there so far.
Bryce Gray 2024 5’10” University – Gray is shorter lead guard with flash and skill. Great, controlled handles and can really push the tempo if he wants. Sees the floor well and looks to be an elite level passer already. Got to the rim and finished well for the most part but never saw much of a jumper from him yet. Size not an issue right now.
Grant Haworth 2024 6’4″ Fishers – Haworth is a shorter yet bigger sized post. Huge frame and does a pretty good job posting up on the offense. Battles for boards and uses that natural strength well. For being such a bigger post, his footwork is pretty solid and he knows how to use his big frame. Adding speed will be what he should be working on next.
