Over 35 teams participated in the event featuring teams from California, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. Recently the evolution of the game has given rise to more combo-type guards, players who possess the 1 on 1 skills of shooting guards, with the playmaking of points. In this article, we take a look at the top Combo Guards from the event.
Mckel Shedrick 6’1 Team Eleate 2025 – Shedrick was one of the smoothest players at the event. Whenever coach Lea and team Eleate needed a bucket, his name was called. The lefty was able to penetrate at will, but he also showed terrific vision finding teammates both on the perimeter and under the rim.
Tommy Isbell 5’10 All Vegas 2025 – Isbell is one of those players that can score in bunches. This weekend a ton of his points came in transition, however, he also showed that he can knock down shots from behind the line. The lefty has a smooth stroke and a knack for scoring the basketball.
Josiah Andrews 5’8 YBA Elite 2026 – Andrews is a stud. He combines the wiggle, and handle of a PG with the shooting stroke of a pure 2 guard. He put in work every game he stepped on the floor, helping YBA to the championship game of the 13U bracket.
Breylan Singleton 5’11 Team AON 2025 – Singleton showed a nice burst, and the ability to get into the lane. He also was a scrappy defender, harassing ballhandlers throughout the weekend. He got out in transition to finish but also showed the ability to beat defenders off dribble drives.
Phillip Gordon 5’8 Progress Feels Better 2027 – Gordon was more of a bucket getter this weekend, but he also showed flashes of PG skills. His handle was good, especially when playing at higher speeds. He was able to impact games with his coast-to-coast drives, and ability to blow by and score in the paint.
