Here are some of those top newcomers in the most updated rankings.
Cahmai Crosby Cahmai Crosby 6'3" | SG Park Hill South | 2023 State MO 6’3″ Park Hill South: A talented shooting guard who emerged as one of the top young prospects in the Kansas City area. He has good size, quickness and the ability to score at all three levels. he averaged a team-high 12.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 assist while making an impressive 50 percent of his 3-point attempts. His deep shooting range and his ability to create off the dribble make him very difficult to defend.
Kayden Fish Kayden Fish 6'7" | PF Staley | 2023 State #181 Nation MO 6’6″ Staley: After seeing some reserve minutes on the Falcons’ Final Four team in 2020, the “Big Fish’ became a force in the paint as a sophomore in helping lead Staley to a 24-4 record and a Class 6 district championship. He is a physical player who has the ability to score with power and finesse in the low post. He also has some athleticism to go along with his big body. He averaged 10.8 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting well North of 50 percent from the field.
Camden Bennett Camden Bennett 6'3" | SG St. Joe Lafayette | 2023 State MO 6’2″ St. Joe Lafayette: A physical shooting guard who is one of the most difficult matchup problems in the class. He started the season coming off the bench and by the end of the season, he had emerged as a top scoring threat. He uses his combination of strength and skill level to score around the basket against bigger players and his quickness to make it happen on the perimeter.
Arhmad Branch Arhmad Branch 6'1" | PG Festus | 2023 State MO 5’11″ Festus: A quick and exciting point guard who led the Tigers to a 19-6 record as a sophomore. He caught my eye last year at a Prep Hoops event at the end of the summer while playing up at 17U. He has excellent speed and has the ability to make his teammates better with his playmaking skills while being able to score at a high level. He averaged 15.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.4 steals during the season.
Marqueas Bell Marqueas Bell 6'2" | SG Park Hill | 2023 State MO 6’2″ Park Hill: The long and lanky southpaw was one of the most productive sixth men in the state during his sophomore year. He came off the bench and provided instant offense in a variety of ways. He has a long stride with enables him to cover ground to get to the basket and he can also knock down 3-pointers off the catch. He averaged 10.3 points and 3.3 rebounds while making 35 percent of his 3-point attempts.
Cole Griesemer Cole Griesemer 6'6" | SF Springfield Hillcrest | 2023 State MO 6’6″ Hillcrest: A young hybrid player who is a matchup problem with his combination of size and skill level. He is a pinpoint passer who can see over the defense and drop dimes off the dribble that are right on target. He has the ability to score at all three levels and he can go inside and score with his size.
Isaac Bird Isaac Bird 6'5" | SG Gallatin | 2023 State MO 6’4 Gallatin: A very talented guard who is one of the top young prospects in the Northwest side of the state. He played the facilitator role for his team with his playmaking skills, but he was also a potent offensive player as he led a young Gallatin team to a 20-4 record and a berth in the district championship game.
Colby Lancaster Colby Lancaster 6'6" | PF Fulton | 2023 State MO 6’6″ Fulton: A very athletic post player who was one of five talented sophomores to start for the Hornets this season. He has a big body, a lot of athleticism and a big upside for the future. He can score with power around the rim and block shots. He averaged eight points and five rebounds a game while shooting 62 percent from the field.
